Chris Guru, et All iMac Listas
G'day, and not really ringin' my own bell here, just am in need of
some more help on this now sad iMac, and a lil' input on this 400dv...

Mornin' there!, and altho I haven't yet found the time needed to

Per your explicit instructions on how to pop her open, it went perfect,
I changed the PRAM Batt. and put in the RAM stick, finally hit the CUDA
button for goodluck, but all I get from her is a single solitary tone
(not a chime) on any power up try. Is there anything else suggestable
for me to try or is this baby down for the count, and in need of a new
power supply, PMU, or perhaps something even worse??
The slot load iMacs are pretty relaxed with their memory requirements.
Just about any PC100 or PC133 chip should work up to a 512 MB chip
(possibly higher, but Apple specs it only as high as 512 MB chips for
a
total of 1 GB of RAM... some Macs can use higher than Apple claims, so
can not, I can't say I've tried on any of my iMac DVs).
So yeah, the ram out of your Beige G3 should work just fine.
Am still hopin' that the RAM will be seen and usable once a good bootup
is in the workx...
Yet another on the side(while on a roll) , does anyone have any idea as
to how to set Apple Mail v1.3.1(1) preferance's to a default send of
ONLY
Text mails?, and to ignor all others whether a Reply or New mail?
I just hafta run this by ya'all just one more time, am still hopin' for
some input on Mail. Also, I might add, I can't seem to find a way to
priortize mails as I could in all mailers and Systems before OSX but
not in either X.2.8 and X.3.9. TIA
Any and All advice, suggestions, ideas will be appreciated and very
much welcomed.
Respectful of GURUs
