Hi there! It’s Crispin this morning. Change around yet again and I’ll be
letting you know what’s happening in today’s show at half past six.

As you may have already heard Top Gear presenter, Richard Hammond, was involved
in an accident yesterday. He was filming for the BBC programme in a rocket
powered car in an attempt to break the world speed limit and we believe that he
was travelling at about three hundred miles per hour. Well, we’ll be reporting
from Elvington, where the crash happened. That’s just on the East Yorkshire
border and we’ll have the latest on that story. Of course, Top Gear and its
presenters have come under some criticism from Look North viewers after Jeremy
Clarkson’s comments about Lincolnshire. I believe he said he thought it best to
speed through the county, because there was nothing worthwhile to see. Well,
that prompted a huge amount of criticism from you, especially as the area has
some dangerous accident black spots. Well, I’m sure that your thoughts are with
Richard Hammond and his family and friends and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Also tonight, we'll be bringing you all the action from last night's high
profile football game between Scunthorpe and Aston Villa. It was a huge game to
come to the town and our reporter, Amanda Thomson, was there with the fans last
night on the programme. Well, were you there last night? How was the match? Let
me know what the atmosphere was like at the ground. Get in touch with us to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

And also at six thirty, we’ll be meeting the man who's launching his own
sniffer dog hire company. Have you ever been in need of a sniffer dog? Well,
this man’s business could be the answer to your prayers. And we’re in Chapel
St. Leonards to meet the couple who run one of the region's most unusual pubs.
We’ll have the full story later.

All the weather forecasters are talking about it. We’ve got unusually hot
weather today and I think it’s from the tail end of a tornado in Jamaica! Well,
the papers are all saying that it could be one of the hottest September days on
record. So why are the region's retailers getting into the Christmas spirit?
This always gets on my nerves when you see the Christmas decorations out too
soon. More on that later.

Last night on the programme we had a wonderful chat with the great actress,
Maureen Lipman. Now though, we can’t just call her an actress, because she’s
just launched a book. Her husband died from cancer in 2004 and during the
period of time when her husband was travelling to and from hospital, Maureen
starting writing a collection of poems in order to help her deal with his
illness and subsequent death. She’s now published this poetry and all of the
proceeds of the book are going to cancer research. So it’s a wonderful cause
and the story behind the poems is very inspiring. We’ve got a book to give away
and we announced the question on last night’s programme. There’s still time to
enter if you’d like a copy of the book. All you have to do is answer this
question – name Maureen Lipman’s late husband. He was a wonderful TV dramatist
and all we need is his name if you’d like a copy of Maureen’s book. Write to us
with the answer and send it to BBC Look North, Queen's Court, Que!
en's Gardens, Hull, HU1 3RH. And best of luck!

Take care and see you tonight on BBC One at 6.30pm.

Crispin
