SA: dmb, I made this same point over and over
again. I don't see what the mix-up, confusion, or
need to revise the moq due to somebodies
unsatisfication or learning process. I guess even
being adverse to this 'meta-level' to some, makes one
labeled hostile. It seems some want to play devil's
advocate and pull people's legs. 'Direct everyday
experience' - this is the metapysics lived. The moq
is not some stale, sittin' around metaphysics. The
moq point is that it lives and breaths - how, well, I
live and breath, a rabbit lives and breaths. The moq
is accepting these live actions. The moq is accepting
lava flowing down a volcano without the need to box it
up in only intellectual concepts to make it a
philosophy. Philosophies that that want to
conceptualize everything are philosophies that one
needs to read in a book about. ZMM and Lila are
books, yes, but these are books that become more about
being letters to the world and distributing
information. But all one needs to do is live ones
life to notice what Pirsig is talking about. This is
what the whole deal is about the 'moon pointing' and
stuff. If one can only learn about the world due to
somebodies heady jargon in abstract only, then of
course people will find no use for this abstract only
stuff. It's not practical and everyday. Pirsig has a
philosophy for the person who wakes up in the morning
and goes to work at the pizza shop.
