That's a short-term solution I was forced to choose when Kirkby dismissed me in some manner (even if he stated "That's not I want to dismiss you, but ..."), or something like that. Sorry folks, but you don't have all the history to understand, but trust me, I felt my few days contributing to chessDB not funny. And one day I received a mail from Kirkby I felt insulting, and started immediately Scid-pg. The best situation for me is someone (anybody motivated) continuing Scid development and myself acting as a contributor. I acknowledge that, in general, the more developpers, the better. > On the other side ChessDB offers a structure to the future developments. > And that is the point. One may argue that no real enhancement has been > added to ChessDB. And that may be true (well some things have been done > anyway). But the future perspectives are extremely promising. Well, I don't think what I did with Scid's source will not lead to a "success story" (at least if I look the encouraging mails I receive; in fact some mails are so kind, I supect my mother sending them). I did not compare chessDB to my own version of Scid, but what I know is that I use a lot what I added into Scid. If I had continued with chessDB I would not have been able to work at this pace and having fun doing it.
