[Audyssey] TDV question

2011-05-09 Thread Lori Duncan
hi I have a question about TDV, when I take off I sometimes hear chase calling
me to pull up, but not sure why, I don't get the stall alarm, so it can't mean
I'm going to nose-dive? Thanks from Lori.

Hi everyone, I've finally managed take-off in TDV, but for some reason by
the time a race finished I'm always getting the low fuell warning. Also
could someone tell me how I land when told too. It says in the manual
that

I should hear a landing beakon sound and the officer telling me that I'm
locked onto it, but I can't hear that sound. I hit page down to start
decending, then get stall warnings and told I'm too loose. Did i hit page

Re: [Audyssey] TDV

2011-03-30 Thread Shiny protector

Hi,

Do this. Well, you have to make sure the beacon is always in 5 miles range.
Do some high G turns every often. Descend until you have your nose at 153,
then gradually decrease your speed. When it is at 600 knots, or 670, what
ever, between 700 or 600, push the speed down towards 280 knots, maybe more,
but that depends. You want something useful? You still have to check about
the landing beacon. You've checked it. If its fine, you could still continue
descending. I mean, always keep it at 153 or 155 degrees nose angle. Moniter
your spead. If you here a warning sound, increase your speed immediately.
Make sure it doesn't go to 300 knots. If it passes the markc, decrease the
spead again. Then focus on the other task. Always check whether your in site
of the beakon. If your spead staies at a good marc, then your fine. During
your landing, you'll hear a staul alarm. This is warning you that the plain
is going to the ground. When your at one thousand feet, retract your landing
gear immediately. Then your good to go!

As for the race, decrease your spead to the 600 range. In fact kick in with
after burners after your on the 600 marc, then withdraw the afterburners and
your fine.

Hth.

Hi all,

FIrst off, let me appologise profusely. I stated that we would start at
ten eastern, however, some soundcard settings got in the way.
Therefore, we will be starting at 11:00 eastern. I will be on JJRN
until then, however, to make sure everyone gets settled.

Once again, I must appologise profusely. I didn't forsee this, and in

[Audyssey] TDV final battle and possible bug

2010-12-18 Thread Chad Fenton
I'm almost at my wit's end in the final battle. I've got Dark Blaze to
the point where the REO says he's been killed for the third time, one
time past where it's announced that his plane can repair in the air,
using mostly guns and almost all my missiles. The refueler is around 27
miles away, and I've saved my game as I've gotten closer to it.
However, I've noticed that if I saved the game where the refueler is 10
miles away, and then load the game to resume, and if I die and then
reload the game again, the refueler starts back at 27 miles away.
Perhaps this is designed to increase the challenge, but it's rather
annoying. To make matters worse, Dark Blaze is less than a mile from me
and I only have one cruise missile and guns. I'm almost ready to ask
for a cheat code, if one exists. I'd hate to start the mission
completely over at this point. Even with hitting Dark Blaze with a
cruise missile and guns for around twelve seconds, he still didn't go
down. I'm all for a challenge, but this is insane.

I've installed the latest patch for Terminal Velocity in the hopes of
resolving the issue of starting the final battle at the end of the game.
I saved the game immediately after I'd resumed from my last save
before the patch was installed. When loading my saved game, I was at

destruction, the cut scene with the boss played, but at its conclusion
when regular gameplay resumed, there was no additional target to go
after besides a couple remaining guard towers around 80 miles or more
away, and I wasn't being attacked by another aircraft, as the cut scene
would seem to imply. If there's something else I need to do before the
battle initiates, I'm at a loss as to what. My plane is at 62,000 feet,
so I should be able to see any targets available. Any assistance is
appreciated.

resolving the issue of starting the final battle at the end of the game.

[Audyssey] TDV final mission objective

2010-12-04 Thread Chad Fenton
Hi all. I'm stuck again at the seeming end of mission mode in TDV.
Upon destruction of the final radar station, I receive the order to
destroy the cloning facility/fortress from Chase, whereupon Brutus does
his dialogue. However, I'm stumped as to what to do next. If
destroying the radar tower initiates the final boss battle with him and
any other choppers or aircraft along with him, this does not happen.
It's nothing like destroying the power plant immediately brings on the
attack by the choppers, as you can lock onto one right away. After the
dialogue with Brutus is concluded and you press l to lock onto available
aircraft or ground targets, all I see is a guard tower I neglected to
destroy back in sector Q. I'm also at 50,000 feet and have gone as high
as 80,000 feet, so if there was something to see over 100 miles away,
I'd think my radar would've found it. No Brutus, no other aircraft, and
no indication of where I need to travel to in order to finish the
mission. Any help is appreciated.

Hi list:

Sorry if somke of these questions were asked previously and yes I have
read

the manual already about this.

I am trying to learn how to land which I saw earlier was a hot topic.

My question is as follows.

I am in race mode and I win the race and I get the message to land. My
question is how do I know what direction to go to land? I do not hear
anything to indicate that I need to turn and/or such. I am at around 35000
feet and well at that point I do not know what to do next to find where to
land.

Any help would be appreciated.

[Audyssey] TDV help

2010-11-28 Thread Chad Fenton
Ok, all. I've taken out the chopppers in mission mode and was given
instructions to destroy the radar towers and then the suspension bridge.
If memory serves, I was around sector Zg19 to do this, as that is near
the power plant. However, I can't seem to find either the bridge or
radar towers. I've climbed to over 70,000 feet in an attempt to find
any of them with the radar, as this has proven useful in finding mission
objectives from great distances, but no luck. I've proceeded up through
sector ZP19 or so and haven't found anything. My rationale for going
forwards is that up till this point, everything in the mission has been
in sequence. The greater the letter, the further in the mission you
proceed. I don't know if this is a case where you have to backtrack to
sectors with a single letter designation to find the towers and bridge,
but any tips to finding them are appreciated.

[Audyssey] TDV question and a suggestion

2010-11-27 Thread Chad Fenton
Hi, all. I've been working on the first mission of TDV, taking out the
training grounds and power plant. I was curious if anyone had
suggestions of mile ranges for successful utilization of missiles, as
I've found that it varries. For instance, with some targets like the
battleship and gard tower, which appear to be stationary, it seems as
though you can lock on at the missile's maximum range of fifteen miles
and still destroy them. By contrast, when attempting to take out other
targets like SAM batteries, you have to be under ten miles away to
likely destroy them. It would make sense that the closer you are, the
more llikely to hit your target, but of course you have to contend with
missiles being launched at you. This doesn't seem to apply with cruise
missiles, which makes sense, as it's an active radar guided weapon,
whereas the conventional missile is semi radar guided. It may be that a
missile's success or failure to hit is random because of this fact, but
any tips on taking out ground-based targets is appreciated.

Those who have completed the game may have different thoughts on this,
but I was wondering if a save feature could be implemented during
mission mode to return to where you left off. Once I was lucky and took
out the battleship and all SAM batteries and guard towers reaching the
island, needing to use all missiles and cruise missiles to do so and
docking with the refueler to rearm. However, getting to this point took
around 40 minutes or so, which naturally is far longer than a typical
racing or deathmatch mode required to gain mission mode. A save feature
may already be in consideration, but I thought it would be useful.

2010-11-27 Thread Alfredo C

Hi,
I have almost gotten to the end of the game, and in the options menu in game
play, there is a save game feature. You may have to hit your target with two
or three missiles. You are better able to detect more objects if you are
around 7 feet or greater than if you were below that level.

[Audyssey] TDV help

2010-11-26 Thread Mike Maslo
Hi list:

Sorry if somke of these questions were asked previously and yes I have read
the manual already about this.

Re: [Audyssey] TDV help

2010-11-26 Thread Bryan Peterson
You actually don't need to go anywhere persay. THe trick, and it is indeed a
bit tricky, is to start descending slowly at first until you're at or below
1000 feet. Then you have to take out your landing gear. Then you have to
turn until you hear the beeping that tells you you're approachhing te corect
direction. If you've had any experience with GMA Tank Commander this part
should be familiar to you since the beeping will increase in pitch as you
approach the correct direction. Then when you're lined up properly with the
landing beacon you'll hear a solid, continuous tone. But if you pay
attention during the message where you're instructed to land you'll hear
Orion say Locked onto landing beacon. So all you have to do is to turn until
you're facing the right direction and descend with enough time to deploy the
landing gear. The trick is doing it with enough airspeed that you'll be able
to descend but not so fast that you'll cras or damage your aircraft. When
you're close to landing you need to have an airspeed of 400 nots or less.
Also make sure your angle of attack for the landing is 150 or greater,
otherwise you'll come in too steep.

So how is it now? Are the sounds better? Is the game really worth it

well don't bother about the beakon till you get to 1000, level off and
deploy your gear then concentrate on angle slowly reduce speed.
I made it almost to the ground but in my previous version all keys

Hi
Ok guys is tdv worth the download? I am asking because when I
downloaded tdv a year or so ago the sounds were not that good. For
example in the old tdv from a year or so ago you did not hear the
engines rev up and down in short, the game sounds were not that great.
So how is it now? Are the sounds better? Is the game really worth it
this time?

ello,
I have had a lot of experience with landing, though I agree it is hard, but
with practice, Ilanded 10 times in a row, at least that is what I believe. I
have not done it on an aircraft carrier because of registration issues.

example in the old tdv from a year or so ago you did not hear the
engines rev up and down in short, the game sounds were not that
great.

So how is it now? Are the sounds better? Is the game really worth it
this time?

That's the point. I don't always manage to get to 1000 feet. Oh I'm sure I
get there but I can't seem to set either the airspeed or angle so that I
have enough time to deploy the landing gear and then line up with the
beacon. To date I've successfully landed once.

well don't bother about the beakon till you get to 1000, level off and
deploy your gear then concentrate on angle slowly reduce speed.
I made it almost to the ground but in my previous version all keys stopped

and I did not land though it showed 0, so who knows I think that was a
land for me at any rate.

[Audyssey] TDV Landing step-by-step instructions

2010-11-20 Thread Karl Belanger
Hi,

Here is a set of steps to get you on the ground every time:

1. Turn until the game tells you the beacon is at 12:00.

2. Descend until you are about 3000 or less feet above the ground, at
any speed and angle then level off.

3. Slow the plane until you hear the stall warning and then speed back
up slowly until it stops.

4. Descend slowly until you reach about 500 feet above the ground and
again level off.

5. Take out your landing gear at this point.

6. Insure that the beacon is five miles or less from you in any
direction.

7. If you are more than five miles away, turn toward the beacon and
put on a little speed until you are within five miles, then slow back down.
If the beacon is behind you and your within but close to the limit, I
recommend turning around.

8. Start descending, but don't let your angle get to sharp. Anything
greater than 150 should be fine.

9. You will eventually land successfully.

I know this is a cautious approach to landing, but if followed, will get you
on the ground every time.

Hello. I had to refuel, but now I can't locate the choppers? Anyone know
where they are?

Thanks

Re: [Audyssey] TDV and choppers?

2010-11-20 Thread Karl Belanger
Get the update that just came out. This should fix the problem, though you
may not be able to recover the save. Basically what happens is that the
choppers keep moving away from the carrier, so they don't stay close enough
for you to catch back up after refueling.

Re: [Audyssey] tdv question

2010-11-17 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Josh,

Are you looking for a personal opinion? Well, if so I think TDV is a
pretty decent game, and is well worth the download. Weather you wish
to buy it or not is your choice. However, the only one who can say if
it is really worth it is you since it is up to your own personal
judgment on those kinds of matters. So try it and see.

As far as judging a game by last year's beta think about that a bit.
This game has been in development a long time and things change from
release to release from beta to beta etc. Basing a new game soully on
its beta releases is, well, a bit stupid since a lot of things are
subject to be updated and changed through the course of development. I
don't think comparing 1.0 to last year's beta release is hardly a
fair comparison do you?

Hi Bryan,
Was just curios, any special sound that you don't find realistic?
I have noticed that if you listen closely with headphones you can actually hear
the looping of the engine sound. The radio sound could have been a little
better from my opinion.
And the sound file of the engines could have been a bit longer.
Except that, I think this is a great game and I am going to purchase it.

Nothing that really detracts from the gameplay. I imagine there's only so
much you can do to modify sounds so there might be instances like that where
you hear the looping. Even in some mainstream games if you pay attention you

Is the game really worth it
this time?

[Audyssey] tdv tips

2010-11-17 Thread Mike Reiser

Hello all,

I'm very frustrated and would like some tips with tdv. I'm currently
playing in raceing m0ode until I get the hang of flying the aircraft,
then I'll move into mission mode. Firstly, is there an altitude you
should try to stay at? When I go to about 10,000 feet and level off,
and also when I try to turn left to turn towards the sound from that
dirrection, I constantly hear we're too loose! My airspeed will say
something like 900 notts or 1200 nots due to me running my
afterburners. This is even at full throttle. I'll worry about landing
later, right now I just have trouble staying in the air as my altitude
always drops and I always have to pull up again. Any ideas would be great.

Use banking. Control left and right arrow key. Hope this helped.

well don't bother about the beakon till you get to 1000, level off

Hello everyone, Some people asked how do they start from the geginning? Then
answer to that question is to simply delete the Settings.tdv found in the
ThreeDVelocity in the program files folder.

Hi,
I just wanted to tell that I have been able to land one time now and going to
try it again. It wasn't that hard when I had figured it out.
First I quickly decended and I decreast my speed to about 200 knots and let the
aircraft slowly decent. and then I focused on the land beacon and my angle was
about 160 and when I got to 800 feat I pressed g and the aircraft landed just
fine!
Must try it again now, smiles.

Hi
Ok guys is tdv worth the download? I am asking because when I
downloaded tdv a year or so ago the sounds were not that good.
For example in the old tdv from a year or so ago you did not
hear the engines rev up and down in short, the game sounds were
not that great. So how is it now? Are the sounds better? Is the
game really worth it this time?

well don't bother about the beakon till you get to 1000, level off
and deploy your gear then concentrate on angle slowly reduce speed.
I made it almost to the ground but in my previous version all keys
stopped and I did not land though it showed 0, so who knows I think
that was a land for me at any rate.

Hi Charles,
I agree with you. Mitch, why do you have to ask when its been released and
what the game is about? The information is on the link. You need to take
more notice, Mitch. You can't always ask, even when the link has been
posted. Its basically an aircraft fighting game. Also, if ok, lets say you
were on vacation in a country or such, then you could ask, and their
wouldn't be any problems. Don't take this message as an insult, its just an
advice. When the game is released, you could download it strateaway.

[Audyssey] TDV: RPMs and airspeed

2010-11-16 Thread Zachary Kline

Hi All,
I've read the manual on this, but am still a bit unclear. I throttle up
to 100% power which turns on my afterburners, but when I pull back to
turn them off I find my engine RPMs gradually dropping along with my
airspeed.
I'm a bit confused: do I need to keep a constant hand on the throttle to
make sure that doesn't happen? Somehow 600 m/h doesn't seem too fast for
a plane like mine.

Thanks for any advice or clarification,
Zack.

No, throttling with your afterburners will work just fine, but if you do
thrn them down, be sure to quickly take off before your RPM decreses, the
maximum RPM is 4.

hi. firstly, bare in mind, your revs are based on if the burners are on. if
they are not, then your going atound 670. .. and thats not miles per hour,
thats knots. different messurement.

its nortical miles to be exact.
and yes, burning on afterburn for to long burns huge amounts of fuel.
something you need to watch in longer flights. .. thank all that there is
that there is an aircraft carryer nearby! ahaha

happy shooting.
