Re: [Audyssey] RS games on IOS; is that true?

2016-03-01 Thread Michael Forzano
Hi All,

I am one of the developers of RS Games. Unfortunately, we haven't
released an iOS app. We would very much like to release an app in the
future, but we don't have any details on a timeline at this point. In
the meantime, the games are technically playable on iOS using our web
client, though it lacks sounds and is in general not a great
experience. The web client can be found by going to our website,
www.rsgames.org and clicking on "Play using the RS Games Web Client
(In a Web Browser)"

Thanks,
Mike

Hello,
So, I heard that apparently, an RS client was released for IOS? Is that
true? A google search didn't turn up anything obvious.

[Audyssey] RS Games Help

2015-05-22 Thread King Meade
I am unable to log into RS Games client  2.01.  This happen within the last
couple of weeks as I never experienced problems before.
Here is what I have done so far:
Uninstalled RS Games client 2.01 from my computer and reinstalled it.
Not able to log in.

Requested a new password for my account. Tried logging in with new password.
Still not able to log in.
Every time I enter my username and password, I hear the RS Games  music, but
it says no game.

What can I try next?

It does take a little while I suspect server load but you never know
the status of everything.

Once they are downloaded it should be ok though.
What I do is run the client, download all sfx for each game and then
they are all there.

[Audyssey] RS Games has Released Version 2.0 of the RS Games Client and a New Game!

2014-12-20 Thread Michael Forzano
Hello Gamers,

RS Games is proud to celebrate its fifth anniversary. On Dec. 20,
2009, RS Games first began as a meager multiplayer, online version of
monopoly. Five years later, it boasts many popular board and card game
titles such as Uno, Blackjack, Farkle and Cards Against Humanity. We
are excited to announce the release of version 2.0 of the client with
an exciting new feature and several bug fixes. We have implemented a
voice chat system that has been completely revamped from the ground up
using the Teamspeak SDK. This means realtime voice chat during
gameplay. In a few days we will discontinue the voice clips system
currently in place. In addition to this exciting new feature, we've
released a new game, called Toss-up.
From all of us here at RS Games, we would like to thank you for making
us what we are today. Without the feedback and support from all of our
loyal players, there is absolutely no way this would even be possible.
We'd like to wish a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic new year.
Have a wonderful holiday, and enjoy!
The RS Games Team

Hi Josh,

I don't think there is anything wrong with their servers. It just
takes a while to completely download the sounds for their client and
games, and sometimes it is faster than others. Just be patient.

Cheers!

[Audyssey] RS Games has Released Cards Against Humanity!

2014-09-01 Thread Michael Forzano
Hi All,

I'm excited to announce that RS Games has released Cards Against
Humanity! For those who don't know, Cards Against Humanity is
basically an adult version of Apples to Apples with R-rated cards. For
that reason, you must be at least 18 years old to play this game. This
game has become pretty popular over the last few years and we're glad
to be able to add it to RS Games. You can read more about the game in
the documentation at http://zanosoft.net/zgp/doc/cah.html or check it
out from within the RS Games Client.
Enjoy!

Not a bad rendition of the game. There are a lot of scoring options and
it's a fun game. When you're connected, look for beastmaster.

Hi, 2 comments. The bug where you were talking about when your about to
by a property and, it's still on the roll dice menu, usually I have to hit
escape twice to get it back to where I need it. As for the noises being
to loud, and saving your settings after you, lets say turn the music down,
that was actually brought up on that list a while back. I hope in a newer
version of the client they will implement that. Because I personally
would like to turn down the music in Yatsy.

Subject: [Audyssey] rs games

Hi,

Recently had two problems with the downloadable version of the rs game
client software. I have emailed them, but no response. So that is why I
am

asking here.

1. I've had the game freeze up on me 3 different times. One time was on a
monopoly board. I was playing against 2 bots when it was a bots turn. The
bot was putting houses on a property when it froze up. I left the table,
came back in and it was still froze up. I eventually had to quit the
game.

The other two times was while playing black jack. I was playing with
another
person. We put our bets on the table, and the dealer never dealt. When
the

other person stood up, it kicked me off the table. We went back in and
started playing again when it froze up again in the same situation.

2. This problem is in the monopoly game. This particular nuisance I have
not

written to RS games about, but thought I would post it here.

The problem is a focus issue. I am playing the rs games on a windows 7 32
bit machine running jaws 12. The problem arises when the appropriate
window

does not have focus.

For instance, you just rolled doubles. You move to a property you want to
buy. But instead of being able to buy it, the roll menu is in focus. You
have to roll again before the option to buy the property is available. So
you end up buying the property after you have already rolled again.

Or, a more major problem is when you are managing assets, and you hit
enter
on a property to build houses, mortgage, etc, many times it will lose
focus.
You hit buy house, it builds the house. But then dumps you back to the
roll

menu. You go back to manage assets, select the property, select build
house, and it says invalid. The reason it is invalid is that the other
two
menu selections windows are still open and causing it to be invalid. So
one

has to jump through many hoops for it to gain focus on those open windows
and get them closed before proceeding. Sometimes this has taken me many
minutes to just build a couple of houses. I've even exited and logged
back

on to clear this up. Quite, quite annoying.

There also has been instances where after my turn was over, I could press
the up or down arrow key and windows would be there. Hitting enter on the
appropriate item will cause that window to disappear. I've even gotten to
roll when it wasn't my turn because of these ghost windows.

Has anyone else experienced these problems or annoyances? How did you
resolve them.

BTW, does anyone think the sounds are too loud? I only have one sound
card
for both jaws and any other sounds. The main sound that plays when
selecting

a game or table is too loud and must be turned down in order to hear the
selections. The background sounds that play during game play many times
overwhelms jaws and I have to wait for it to stop playing in order to
continue. I think that once the volume for the primary sound is set, this
setting should be saved in the game so that the next time the game
launches

or you switch tables, it doesn't go back to full volume.

Thanks in advance.

Rich

Hi,

I've heard from Ryan off list. He says they are working on the bots. This
seems to be the problem with the game hanging when it is a bots turn.

As for monopoly, I haven't heard from them regarding the focus issue. for
now, If I cannot get it resolved in a matter of seconds, I just save and
exit. Log back on, and resume the game. The problem is resolved for a while.

Hadn't heard about any server issues.

HTH.

if you have any suggestions on what to do in regards to the focus issue of

good luck on getting those minor bugs fixed. You've got a great product

 1. I've had the game freeze up on me 3 different times. One time was on a
monopoly board. I was playing against 2 bots when it was a bots turn. The
bot was putting houses on a property when it froze up. I left the table,
came back in and it was still froze up. I eventually had to quit the game.

The other two times was while playing black jack. I was playing with another
person. We put our bets on the table, and the dealer never dealt. When the
other person stood up, it kicked me off the table. We went back in and
started playing again when it froze up again in the same situation.

 2. This problem is in the monopoly game. This particular nuisance I have not
written to RS games about, but thought I would post it here.

The problem is a focus issue. I am playing the rs games on a windows 7 32
bit machine running jaws 12. The problem arises when the appropriate window
 does not have focus.

For instance, you just rolled doubles. You move to a property you want to
buy. But instead of being able to buy it, the roll menu is in focus. You
have to roll again before the option to buy the property is available. So
you end up buying the property after you have already rolled again.

Or, a more major problem is when you are managing assets, and you hit enter
on a property to build houses, mortgage, etc, many times it will lose focus.
You hit buy house, it builds the house. But then dumps you back to the roll
menu. You go back to manage  assets, select the property, select build
house, and it says invalid. The reason it is invalid is that the other two
menu selections windows are still open and causing it to be invalid. So one
has to jump through many hoops for it to gain focus on those open windows
and get them closed before proceeding. Sometimes this has taken me many
minutes to just build a couple of houses. I've even exited and logged back
on to clear this up.

I only have one sound card
for both jaws and any other sounds. The main sound that plays when selecting
a game or table is too loud and must be turned down in order to hear the
selections. The background sounds that play during game play many times
overwhelms jaws and I have to wait for it to stop playing in order to
continue. I think that once the volume for the primary sound is set, this
setting should be saved in the game so that the next time the game launches
or you switch tables, it doesn't go back to full volume.

 Thanks in advance.

 Rich

Hi, 2 comments. The bug where you were talking about when your about to by
a property and, it's still on the roll dice menu, usually I have to hit
escape twice to get it back to where I need it. As for the noises being to
loud, and saving your settings after you, lets say turn the music down, that
was actually brought up on that list a while back. I hope in a newer
version of the client they will implement that. Because I personally would
like to turn down the music in Yatsy.

2011-04-19 Thread Richard Sherman
Hi Ryan,

Sorry about coming across so badly. I guess I got a little impatient. I like
playing the games. But with multiple lock ups. I thought there might be
something wrong with my installation. And was hoping that someone on list
might know of a way to fix it until I get a reply from you.

if you have any suggestions on what to do in regards to the focus issue of
selection menus, we would probably appreciate hearing from you on list. It
sounds like at least one other person is experiencing this problem.

good luck on getting those minor bugs fixed. You've got a great product
there and I appreciate it.

Thanks.

The result is the same as playing with offline bots.

that the game does not automaticallyexit when A. there is only one player

-You can now use hotkeys from within checklist menus.
-You can now select all items in a checklist with CTRL+Space
(Command+Space on the Mac) and de-select all items with Shift+Space
-Fixed a bug where the client would speak Invalid choice after
downloading sounds

[Audyssey] RS Games Client 1.2 Patch

2010-12-06 Thread Ryan Smith
Hi Gamers,

We are excited to announce the release of version 1.2 of the RS Games
Client. This is a bugfix patch that fixes some of the major bugs that people
have been reporting. The following changes have been made in this version:

- Removed VoiceOver as it was buggy, replaced with NSSpeechSynthesizer.
- Mac Users can adjust the rate with Command+Right (speed up), or
Command+Left
 (speed down).
- Using a more stable networking library. This fixes many bugs, such as
manage
 assets in Monopoly.
- If you are missing a sound, it will automatically be re-downloaded on your
next login. This fixes the key errors people were experiencing.

To download the new patch, go to www.rsgames.co.nr. Please update as soon as
possible to take advantage of the bugfixes. We will invalidate the old
version sometime soon so it will no longer work. Additionally, please
uninstall all older versions from your computer.
Thanks!

Re: [Audyssey] RS Games help!

2010-12-03 Thread Hayden Presley
Hi,
I don't know what's up...they've made several changes, many of which I do
not like. For example, the one house at a time rule? Yes, you have to erect
evenly, but there's no rule that says you can only build one house at a
time. Now, if I tried to put three houses on, say, New York, tne I tried to
put another on on New York later, that would be violating the rules; but...
I didn't even know the bank could run out of houses.

Best Regards,
Hayden

I did not have 32 houses, which is all the bank has. I sold some, still
I couldn't build hotels. It kept saying that I'd have to sell 5 houses to
build a hotel, and you can't sell but one at a time any more. I have never
ever run into this problem before. Usually when you sell a house, you can
build a hotel somewhere else, but not today!

I have the same issues. Or, as I state in an email the following occurs?
Hello, beta 1.1 is not, with voiceover running mac os 10.6 on my

games client no games, unknown yet arrowing around reveals no prompts. When I
pressed enter and was told to enter my username then again to confirm password

[Audyssey] Rs Games Uno keystrokes in manual are missing

2010-10-03 Thread Sarah Haake

Hi,

I just noticed that there are keystrokes in Uno that are not listed in the
manual, or keystrokes that are needed are missing intirely.
Pressing S in the game for example announces the players scrores, but that's
not listed in the manual. I just found it through trial and error cause I
desperately wanted to know what the scores are.
And how can I find out how many cards each player has left? That's not
listed in the manual either, but there must be one. Otherwise, noone could
catch a player who forgot to say uno.

Could you please tell me this keystroke and please add these missing
keystrokes to the manual?

Much thanks and best regards
Sarah

make another key to tell the player how menny hards he/she has, but
tell them the number of each type of card instead of listing all of

Hi people. I just wanted to let you know my impressions about this two games
after two weeks of tests.
Firstavol I'm impressed with how much fun we can get with them.
I'm surprised that not many people are talking here about them.
They are very nice games, with online gaming that works perfectly, with a
chat system where we can interact with real people, cool sounds etc.
In my opinion both games are really well made, very accessible, very simple
to learn and use and with their development they are getting better and
better.
I think that their team deserves our support and it's worth to try because
the games are fun, and because we play onlyne with real people we can have a
lot of hours of fun.
I specially like the scoring system of uno. With S key we can have the
information of how many points have the players of our table and with that
we can make a real race until the win with 500 points.
See you in some uno table. I am Jorge there.

2010-09-05 Thread Jorge Gonçalves

Hi. I don't exactly agree with you.
When you play uno, people are reasonable, and after all it's a friendly
card game.

You play a card, you say uno and that's it.
Even if you say a bit later people understand. But this is not the case
here.
When you have a game that allows people catch you for half a second or
less, the game (in my opinion) allows bad spirit and some random
decisions because if a guy has faster internet connection allways wins
the game.
For me the spirit of uno is that you are in a friendly place having fun
together and calmly you play and the player with better strategy wins.
I think that with my idea, having two seconds for saying uno without
beeing disturbed, the problem would be solved because when you have uno
you can calmly play but if you are trying to hide it from the other
players you can be caught anyway later.

I think the concept is great and the fun that we feel while playing and

There is obviously still things to improve but let's be patient.
There is allthough one thing that I allready reported to Ryan that I
don't like in uno.
I hope they will change somehow because in chat I know that more people
don't like it.
It is about catching people when they don't say uno.
I'm not against the concept, I just think that the game is made in a way
that for moments, it's not a friendly card game, it becomes an action
game. Not mentionning that probably internet connections and stuff can
influence that.
It happened to me allready several times that I played the card with
enter, I had allready the finger in u I pressed very quickly and
anyways, I was caught. I think it's not fair .
My idea, for keeping the game friendly and nice for everyone is that the
person after pressing enter, could have one or two seconds for calmly
press u without beeing disturbed because if not the person who wins is
not the one with better strategy but the one with fastest fingers.
I know the concept was ok but people abuse.
The rest, for me the games are absolutely great.

Excellent job on the client. However, I have a few tings to say about it.
Firstly, (and really the only thing I'm discussing here) are the rule
changes. In Uno, the reverse card reverses to the previous person that

that

you must erect equally, there is no rule that says you must build one

 don't like in uno.

Hi,
In real life, that really isn't any different, considering then it becomes

thing. It really depends on how uno-conscious this or that player is, but
internet connections are the real problem here.

[Audyssey] RS Games Staff

2009-08-17 Thread Ryan Smith
Hello,
RS Games has been in recent need of some volunteer staff members. We
would like some assistance in: Sound Design and Beta Testing. Staff
members get access to our staff area of the website as well as the
staff forums. If your interested, please email us at: rsgames[ a-t
]inbox.com with your desired job and a brief description about
yourself.

One of the games you might be working on is a multi-player Monopoly.
This is not an RS Games alone project. Mike has teamed up with RS
Games to speed up game production.

Note: Most of the time, entire game production excluding beta testing,
is done by Ryan. However, for a few select games, we are opening it up
to those interested. Future games may go back to single-person
production.

Thank you.

Hi,
I agree. I mean, Acefire was my very first game. AutoIt, COMAudio, load of
crap. Now look at it. OK it isn't the best, but VB6, DX8, online
capabilities, computer messages, etc, etc. In fact I've just been working on
that recently. It now has a system to tell a player when the other is typing
a message when playing online.
I am also working on some of the suggestions you guys put forward.
Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] RS Games site update

2008-06-19 Thread shaun everiss
well they have only just started, they are on holoday for a few months.
they will be back.
If they wern't I'd aggree with you that compaired to the rest of us their stuff
is a load of low level crap.
The sdm game is simple, but then it is the first.
In their defence even if sdm crappy that it may be in the big scheme of games
like sod and other games is, it is that no one in their right mind has actually
put arcade, side scroller and 3d together.
Ryan found it hard, so even if he closes for good, and his game gets shoved
over by something like the flight sim bpc is working on, I still feel that
another stepping stone has been achieved in gaming in general.
Not just blind gaming but actual gaming.
I have yet to see a sighted game that can pile all those into 1.
The next steps will include the following.
1. stratagy, adventure if style gameplay,
2 multiplayer, etc.
I think the next hard leap in the industry will be to put what we have together.
We can run multi, strat, sport and a few other things, some in pairs but never
in 3s.
Next is the step to multiplatform, linux, mac, etc games, I know some of you
are already doing it or at least thinking about it.
Another thing is to move into the cellphone market.
I'd also like hybrids, graphics and sound type games.
I know these are real hard to produce, but this is one reason the sighted don't
seem to want to play, doesn't relate to them.
One friend is generally intrested about sightless games but the other wants
graphics.
And while It used to be the case that blind users had to run because of cost on
sower computers for extended periods longer than their sighted counterparts, it
is getting cheaper and cheaper to get a faster than light system.
A pc desktop can cost from 600-3000 with all software, 600 for the system with
nothing in it.
I payed 1300 for this duel core system, it included extra ram, high definition
audio and video, wireless, network, usb bluetooth and a modem.
Not to mention free coppies of vista and xp along with norton internet
security, granted I won't use that stuff but thats quite pricy software.
The point being is that programmers can now afford to say this games needs a 1
ghz cpu, 1.2g of ram and 10g of hard drive space.
The only drawbacks are video cards, however as long as you work in the ratio of
64 to 128 with no 3d exeleration you are still ok.

I am shocked really, about how much things have changed since the last systems
I have had.
The previous one cost 3000, it came with the system, xp home, office nero and
that was about it.
2 usb, a network and a modem and the system.
The one before that cost me 6000, and came with the low grade home os, a modem,
and a faulty main board.
Before that I had a broke usb port, ended up doing an install of a system not
designed for the system, and started out with no internal synths.
Before that I was on a specialised system, costing me about 8 or more grand,
with wordperfect, and dos and keynote software.
Not much else.
Things have changed since then.
My system thanks to usb has an array of modules surrounding it.
A dvd writer, net hub, usb hub, external drive, this may be 2 drives soon,
floppy drive and speaker set.
I could never dream of having anything like that when I first started.
My first system could have extra keyboard, a mouse, a modem and a printer or
external disk drive.
Rs games is only resting.

Before someone decides to go at me, this is not a flame against rsgames or
anyone else.
sdm for what is is real chalenging, and a good game.
However I have not heard such a depressing message as the one below.
will you may have not thought it depressing but it sort of sounded like, well
rsgames is gone, they have only produced one game that is really not much,
quite crappy and so, so and they probably will not come back, etc.
Yeah I know that may be an exaduration but that is what it sounded like on this
end.

Hi Lisa and all,
No, all of Ryan's games were free. So at least for him he doesn't have

Almost no bugs and definately a challenge.

Re: [Audyssey] RS Games site update

2008-06-14 Thread Bryan Peterson
He did say indefinitely Sean. The word you want, I think, is permanently. He
did say possibly for some years to come, which means indefinitely. But I
supose that does mean there's at least some hope we'll see him return in
time.
Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

 yeah so am I.
maybe he will come back he never said he will close indefinately so there
is a chance the man will be back.
The level at 12 for his age is quite amazing.
I don't think that anyone has tried to put 3 game types, arcade, side
scroler and 3d into 1 game.
Almost no bugs and definately a challenge.

Hi Lisa and all,
No, all of Ryan's games were free. So at least for him he doesn't have
to worrry about refunding orders or finishing projects. Keep in mind
Ryan is only 12 years old so his decision to drop out of the game
developers community and be a kid isn't all that surprising. Being a
game developer is a rather big job for a 12 year old. I'm glad to see
how far he came before calling it quits.

Yeah it is strange, sounds like a bit of a dummy spit to me, why be so
selfish as to not give someone else a chance to finish the games, I hope
people hadn't ordered and spent money with him.
