I saw that and it looks good if it all works out. I remember in 1966 my
great aunts and uncles went to visit the Azores and they flew in to JFK and
my husband and I went out to the airport and visited with them during their
6 hour layover!! Don't know if there will be that much of a layover for
Judy, I'm sure that Cheri can help you with that but it may take a while.

read the records the better you get. Just make sure that you practice on
the later records so that you know what the names are in your village. The
further back you go in the records the more the priests used

first that it was an 'S' but then it looks like there is the cross for an

Andrew, I don't know what the timing requirements were but I've found all
of my people getting their passportes just a few days to a week before they
sailed! As "E" does, I work backwords from the date of arrival in the US
and hope I find them in one of the ports. Start with the closest one and
I tried also and it takes you to the list of everything for a specific
village but they says 'unable to connect to site'.

Tony you need to go to the AzoresGenWeb site and download the Basic
Portuguese Paleography. In the center of the booklet it lists given names
and surnames in the modern spellings. Also, James Guill's book *The History

old and he is married to his second wife Rita Victoriana.3 sons by the 1st
