Just chmod +x should be sufficient.
I've probably done something wrong, although I have re-tested this
run.exe and it seems to work for me.
Perhaps you could try 'strace ./run XWin', that might shed some light on

XWin.exe, are you expecting setup to reinstall that
file, even though the package which owns it has no updates?
While setup has many, many infelicities, I'm not sure this is one of them.

I might have to reboot. I went back to 1.15.1-4 and everything
was fine, but now its not working again and same errors as before. :(
There should be no clipboard-related changes between 1.15.1-4 and

You might find running wine in 'virtual desktop' mode helpful, as I
don't think it has enough knowledge of the Xinerama monitor layout to
place windows centered on a monitor.
