FWIW, I am currently experiencing the same error when running
"createrepo" on a repo containing 20 RPMs. The host system is running

Tested with Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 4570c (ID 03f0:1305).
After the bug Simple Scan is no longer able to detect the Scanner, even
by closing and reopening the application. On the other hand the bug
doesn't happen in xsane, and the scanner is even detectable after Simple
Scan is no longer able to
Since an update a couple of days ago, I have the same symptoms.
I log in normally, the desktop appears (with icons) but nothing else.
With right mouse click I can open a terminal, but windows have no
borders and no menus.
I removed my ~/.config/dconf and .config/compiz-1 and checked my
noticed this issue second time for last two days.
4.4.0-36-generic on i5-3340M (Intel® HD Graphics 4000).
I didn't notice such issue previously (using xubuntu near two years)
affected: terminal, system menu, eclipse
not affected: chrome
