The best way would be to build it yourself. Usually it is not too
difficult but many of the issues relate to setting up the development
env. (i.e. compiler etc)

There was a reported problem with runaway scanners and MusicIP
integration with early versions of 6.5.1, but this was marked resolved

network is not giving you enough throughput and you are close to its

Yes, it is: lossless and uncompressed. And yes, iTunes and Aiff are an
excellent solution for ripping/storing if you are using a Squeezebox,

tracknumber tags: I think the irregularities I noticed had been

I have just added Radio Paradise to my SB whilst logged on to Slimserver
rather than Squeezenetwork. I added the url of the stream to slimserver
and hey presto - straight on to SB. Then I added it as a 'favourite'
for future use, but I don't seem to be able to rename it - it just
appears as
You should be able to add a name by using the favorites menu via
Squeezenetwork.com. Click on the pencil icon next to the station and
type in whatever you want.

It seems I have stumbled on the most suitable format for my present
needs. I want the highest quality available when ripping from cd. So,
Eric, do I set the itunes aiff ripping preference to 44000 instead of
48000? Another question... can slim
FreeDB is whatever people have submitted, so it has no standard at all.
If you get tagging software, such as MP3Tag or Foobar (or even iTunes)
you can change your tags to how you prefer. If you have a largish
collection, this is essential!

When I add a radio station, I add it to a playlist I've created of
radio stations. Adding something to a playlist is itself an
adventure.

I received my SB3 today and all I can say at this point is WOW. the
setup went smooth as glass, picked up my Slimserver without a hitch
(wireless,)upgraded the firmware and tested 100% all the up to 5000kps

For some reason, when I upgraded to 6.51, Rhapsody failed to play. The
Rhapsody library would be found, but when I attempted to play a track,
nothing happened. I uninstalled 6.51, reinstalled 6.5, and presto, it

Make sure you are using firmware 71 or higher with 6.5.1, there was a
bug in some of the earlier 6.5.1 firmware versions.
