I am testing my new Chromcast Video (the one with HDMI out) via LMS and
Chromcast Bridge v 02.02. It works terrific for most of my music, which
is flac in 16/44.1 and a little mp3, so thanks a lot to Philippe :-)
What it will not play is flac in 24/96 and above ( not sure about
24/48). When

Chromecast as PCM (i.e uncompressed). Gapless is in the hands of Google
and currently is not supported for streaming from third party devices.

OK, got a regular (HDMI dongle) Chromecast and hooked it up to my
Synology NAS. Installed the plugin on LMS and it works great - I can
stream my music to the Chromecast and it essentially functions like a
Squeezebox Receiver would. Even many streaming Tunein stations will
work (but not all).

I want to thank Phillippe very much for his Chromecast Bridge plugin. It
has worked out pretty well for my small system in my office (a cheapo
Lepai amp and bookshelf speakers), where I have replaced a Squeezebox
Receiver with a Chromecast Audio. This allows keeping Squeezebox
functionality for

only issues I have with LMS to Chrome.

I've post something in the dev repository, but I don't think this is

This is very likely a firewall issue on your server. It you use Windows,
try to run the squeeze2cast-win.exe directly from the plugin directory -
it needs to be done only once

Multiroom is working pretty well with CCA, but it's currently not
working for everyone for strange reasons. I'm sure it's just a WIP
issue. But the CC Standard itself seems to be developing nicely. App
support is growing steadily, so I guess it's here to stay. I certainly

According to the ifixit site (
Android apps updated to 1.13.13 and CCA firmware also updated to
1.17a.49061 and multi room is working and it is quite good.
Except for iOS - Reference API documents seem to be out of date.
There is a group delay correction setting in the App but AFAICT no
documentation for it in the API

Damn useful spin-off (together with 192KHz ADCs) for other applications
that need to record and play back high dynamic range signals at somewhat
higher than human audible frequencies though.

My question was initially a bit rhetorical as I knew Marketing was the
main answer.

First, I've done no test to see if 192kHz can play.
Second, is the output hardware stage of the CCA up to the job - this is
a cheap device so I wouldn't be surprised if the difference between
96kHz
