why did you lose your sound. reinstall your sound drivers. you shouldn't lose your sound something is up. do you use a laptop or desktop. if you use that which has external speakers then unplug those and put your headphones in the internal jack and try again. ok. if its an hdd card and it suddenly happened check your uaa is up in system. there is a patch to fix things on softwarepatch.com if thats broken. if not check your card is working right then check your volume controls. unmute wave and master. check things are as they should be. NO reason why you should lose something unless something is up. Reformat and the problem will go away. Alqways fixes it. if you don't want to reformat then please previde more info. I recently lost my sound so am using a USB headphone. Is there something I can change so I can play the games that use SAPI voices? [Audyssey] The Great Hunt
Okay, I've begun a great hunt for all things PM--games, music programs and the like. I NEED YOUR HELP! Go to http://www.mobilefan.net/Pocket-PC.nsf/Download-Free/ And start downloading games, utilities and more. When you run something you're interested in, see if it's instantly accessible. If not, set your PM to all graphics and find out if you can see them. If so, send me the appropriate link and I'll start labeling the graphics and creating script files if necessary. I only have a 4.1 though, so keep that in mind--anything for Omnis and you'll have to do the work yourself! I dare you to even try to max out my workload. (I love making new programs work.) When I'm done I'll upload the graphics or script files -- somewhere. Eventually, when I have enough stuff to make it worthwhile, I'll create a new PM pack file with everything we've found, and any graphics files and so on I (or any of you ambitious souls,) create for the programs. There are literally thousands of programs here, many for the 4.1--and that's just under freeware. Hi. If you plug in the headphones after the game starts, you won't have much sound, because the headphones become your default audio device. They are, essentially, another soundcard. If you are plugging in the headphones before the games begin and you still don't have sound, you might check to make sure that your settings under sounds and audio devices under control panel, or whatever similar name it has, allow for the use of all devices. Make sure that the use only preferred devices check box is unchecked. If all preferences still check out, you might have an odd set of headphones that just won't work for some reason. If the games work fine without the headphones, then you don't need to take drastic steps. Just remember, USB headphones aren't like regular pop in and play headphones. They work totally differently, so they require more trouble shooting if something doesn't work right. This means that you should see messages even from a few days ago start coming through. Now if you want more technical details on why and how, read on. Otherwise, keep listing on game related topics. What happened is that because we have over 300 members on the list, many email messages were getting delayed by various email service providers such as Comcast, Gmail, and Yahoo to name a few. The way Mailman was configured for this list was so that this would not happen. However due to the problems over the weekend with the server needing to be rebuilt, things got set back to defaults. This of course meant that Mailman would sometimes try to send 100 messages at a time. Breaking it down. If there are 300 members on a list and 5 people email in 5 minutes, that's a total of 1500 messages which get sent out. 300 times 5 equals 1500. Now let's say that there are several Yahoo subscribers. Mailman would bundle messages to quickly get them there, but Yahoo says, hey now! Don't spam me with so many messages. So to protect itself, it causes the messages to either bounce away or to delay for a time. The fix is to make Mailman not send so many at once, thus insuring a smooth list flow like we are used to. So now that those things have been configured, mail from now on should be delivered like what we are used to. However this also means that some of you may either not get prior messages, or if you do get them, they will be delayed as the queue clears out by your isp. Hi all, I am happy to say that after some truly hectic weeks, BGT beta version 0.3 is here! It features the longest list of changes so far, so please be sure to read it carefully. Users of Windows x64 platforms especially should notice some radical improvements in this version as compared to beta 0.2. As always, the list of changes is below: Beta Version 0.3: * Updated the script interpreter to the latest version which fixes some more bugs found by users. * Added global date and time properties. * Reworked the menu class to support Sapi. Please note: Existing code using this class needs to be slightly modified in order to run. * Added a file_exists function. * Added two more string functions (string_contains and string_replace) (thanks Damien). * Added the ability to compile scripts into standalone executables, however this functionality is only available to preorder users. * Modified the end user license agreement to reflect the fact that demo users will not actually be allowed to compile binary executables. * Added a privacy policy. * Some bugs that would occur when playing audio on x64 machines have been fixed. * The pitch of a sound can no longer go quite as low as in previous versions, as it would often cause unstable behavior. * Added a property to the sound object called pitch_lower_limit that allows you to check how far down the pitch can go for the current sound. * Disabled the system menu that would appear when pressing the alt key in the game window, as this interfered with the BGT keyboard input (thanks Lukás). * The engine now looks for include files properly, e.g. first in the current working directory and then in the BGT include directory. * Changed the compiler output to specify the full path of the file that the error or warning message in question is refering to. Hello Charles, It seams to me that such a list would be unnecessary. After all what your suggesting is already one of the primary reasons the Audyssey list exists. It is not just an announcement list, a place to get the magazines, but one designed specifically for help and solutions to games. If people aren't getting help and solutions for games here then they haven't asked. Besides the Audyssey list most game developers have their own mailing list where specific games can be discussed. These tend to be much smaller and a person can find more like minded gamers playing the same title/titles. Then, there is the audiogames.net forum. So I can't help but see there are plenty of resources out there already, and think of another list just as overkill and unnecessary. Smile. hey has anybody have problem re loging in? will i have had this problem for the last two days. when i install the update like everyone else i had to log in to re activate the full game. but when i did this it told me that it don't see where i paid for the game. i try to log in a few times yesterday and today and got the same thing. so does anyone know what is going on about this? i have send jason a few messeges but he hasn't got back with me about this problem. so if someone can tell me what the deal is that would be great. -- Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network. [Audyssey] Audio book adventures
I was poking around the tsr website (the same folks who make mtg) and I found two audio adventures that folks might be interested in listening to. They're built like a choose your own adventure book, only it's audio. Load the index.html file into your web browser, then the audio story lets you know which options to click on to continue the story. I don't know if there's more of them or not, but the first two i found are listed below. interestingly enough, they're actually numbered backwards, the vampire one is actually adventure #1, and the werewolf adventure is #2. I don't think there were anymore of them, because at the end of the werewolf one, when you're prompted to enter disk 3, it doesn't give a title, simply a generic message. Quite the shame, these things are pretty neat. So, listed below are the web pages for each book, and the direct url to download them in case the web pages don't behave for you. Hello Muhamde, I could hear you, but next time try to register the game before you review it. I reviewed a few gamesmyself for entertainment, but I never posted them. I recommend that you find out about the mix of your sound card. You computer can be made to record its own sound, including stereo. You can also try audacity to record your reviews. I would like to tell you that I think you should not record your screen reader in the review. That is what I would do if I were you. Good job on it anyway. Hi Muhammed, I also have listened to your review and to be honest I think you should have had everything ready to go before recording. It was not especially entertaining listening to you looking for your headphones, installing the games, etdc before getting started with the review. I personally felt you should have had all of that setup and ready before you ever started recording. Also it wasn't necessary to yell over the recording. Ouch! My ears are still ringing from you yelling the titles of the games into the microphone. I just about quit listening right then. So in the future try and keep your voice level when recording. So other than those complaints I think the review was O.K. Hopefully next time it will be a little better. Hi Hayden, It is possible to do editing with Audacity, but it isn't as easy as with Goldwave or Soundforge using a screen reader. As I own both Goldwave 5 and Soundforge 10 I don't really have any need to use Audacity so can't be much help beyond I have done it a time or two way back when. Cheers! hmmm. ok we are logging issues where things seem to be weird. technically you couldn't actually need in theory to rereg or rather you do need to login but the system is supposed to know you have paied at least the last time I checked it did. All I can tell you is its active several have had this issue and other login issues. manual hacking by jayson does fix it but something server side is probably wrong not sure what the status of everything is, its in the list but.
