Hi Jim,
Hey, that's perfectly ok. A lot of the early racing games like Poll
Position didn't use realistic physics and so on either. They had
limited CPU power and ram to work with on those Atari systems so
couldn't get too realistic with the games. However, I still had a lot

Hi Thomas,
Raceway with real race car physics sounds great! I do not possess math and
math physics knowledge of anywhere near that level. As a matter of fact, I
just make up math for all of my games. No fancy formulas, just addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division and my favorite,
Hi,
In deed. Unfortunately WWE especially is very controling regarding
their copyrights. I'm not sure I could legally get away with using
actual super stars names without getting in serious hot water. I guess
if you or I wrote a wrestling game all of the wrestlers in the game

Hi Robert,
I am sorry, but I think that you must have talked with someone else about
Racko, vb6 and an AI book. I do not find that at all in my Email archives.
And I have never read or known about any AI books.

Hi Thomas,
Yeah, WWE and TNA especially the Knockout division. And maybe some UFC as
well. When I was young and had site I golfed and was on a bowling league for
years. I also liked to watch Indy racing, drag racing and bowling. None of
those excite me to listen to. I do though enjoy list
Hello Jim,
awhile back I talked to you about writing a game in VB6.
The game was based on the 2-4 player card game called, Racko.
I asked you about artificial intelligence and I think you recommended a book
to me.
Can you tell me again what that book was?
or can anyone else on this list reco

Hi Jim,
Well, I do pretty much the same thing. All of the games I'm working on
are of some particular interest to me personally. If that wasn't the
case I wouldn't have continued working on them for this long. A
developer has to like what he's creating or there is no motivation to
make a decent ga
Hi Jess,
Unfortunately, no. That happens to be one of the sports games that
haven't been made in an accessible format yet. If I knew more about
basketball and had the sounds to do it I might be willing to try it
myself, but need the sounds and rules to really put together something
decent.
Cheers
Hi Phil,
Yes, the Cavs are Cleveland's best sports team. Ironic then since I am not a
fan and never listen to basketball, soccer or hockey. Give me NASCAR, football
or baseball. And of course those are the games I have created, because I am
into them. Not much fun to create games that one
Hi Thomas,
Yes, thanks, I am aware of what is involved in AI for games. As I said though,
I am not into it as much as other types of game coding. But so there you go,
create and sell a basketball game. Heck once you or someone does the AI for
basketball I bet that it could fairly easily be
Has anyone ever created an accessible basketball game? I've always wanted to
play one. Thanks.

Hi Jim,
Oh, I guess I didn't really mean easy, but possible might have been a
better word for it. From a design aspect it would be easy. It is
programming it that is complicated/hard as you have to give all of the
player semi-intelligent AI to know when to block, defend, steell the
ball, whatever.

Hi Thomas,
That may sound easy to code to you, but not to me. Of course AI is not my
strong suit. My football game currently looks at what play the offence calls
and what play the defense calls and then sets a possible and probable play and
yardage from that. That's it.
Personally I do not
Hi Phil,
Yes, between my Brother and I, we had several of those vibrating football games when
we were young. They sure could take some time to set up the direction and placement
of each player. And don't drop anything on the field.
But, Yeah, that could be a way of designing a computer foot
t information about the entire position of all in game objects all the
time.
Beware the Grue!

Hi P
Hi Phil and Jim,
My wife has a basketball game and the way it is done is you control
one player and the rest are handled via AI driven players. So the way
that game is done you are not really concerned with all of the players
but your own. It would be fairly easy to create a basketball, socker,
