HLTV Support Site

2001-09-21 Thread Ken Kirchner
Has anyone undertaken an effort to provide a site with all the HLTV FAQ's, a forum for HLTV discussion, and a repository for utilities and custom map overview files? I proclaim myself as HLTV's biggest fan here and now! If nothing else, an FTP site for the overview files would be a great asset

They do that because Quake III is a good all-around benchmark for video cards. It can really tax a card with some of those levels. HL is just the Quake 1 engine on speed, so it can run on just about anything these days. Even my old Riva TNT could run it great!

The Q3A Engine is so much faster than HL's Cheesy Q1 Engine. I love the Eye Candy you get with a GeForce3 on Q3A especially with Quincunx Anti-aliasing. Gotta love the realistic look of player models, sides of walls, corners, and stuff like that and still get an amazing 60Frams persecond at

Honestly, I'd be interested to find out why correct hitboxes would ever increase CPU usage... Why does CS have this problem when no other Quake-based games (including HL and HL mods besides CS) I can think of share in this weakness? Eric (the Deacon remix) http://www.firekite.com
