Hi Radoslaw,
Yes, SMp/E will use SMPLOG until it is full, then switch to SMPLOGA. Once that
is full, it will not go back to SMPLOG. According to the manual:
"If the SMPLOGA data set is full, the extra log data is written to the SMPOUT
data set, with the date and time stamp encrypted"

What makes it even more fun is when some of us top post and others bottom post

If I do post something to a chain that has any length to it, I try to follow
the convention of the chain as well as deleting irrelevant information.

Esmie,
Let me give it a try. I think you're getting confused due to terminology and
different views of the copies. From a z/OS point of view, both the examples
you show are doing full volume copies of data from your IN to your OUT. Once
the job is done, you have 2 full copies of the data, on

on an IBM product that I have support on. I was able to electronically open
the ticket and as part of my opening documentation, I mentioned that I have an
SVC dump of the offending product that I can send them if the
Sorry if these are silly questions, but my brain is really foggy this morning.
My questions are for validation of what I think would happen with various
iterations of IPCONFIG DATAGRAMFWD.
Scenario 1, I have a single IP address on my z/OS system running to a single
network segment out an OSA p
Hmm, mine works on a screen-by-screen basis. So if you have one upside down,
just click somewhere in that screen and flip it right.

size (the 62x160 is what I use mostly) but I have a couple applications that
only support the mod2-5 scenario so I normally have 2 sessions running all the
time, one with my big screen and another sitting at a mod5.

I didn't know POWER was an acronym - and of course the first hit I got on it

Actually I think IBM System i is still valid. Yes, back around the 2008
timeframe, IBM merged their iSeries and pSeries (IIRC) hardware into the power
line, so now both System i and System p run on the same hardware line (I don't
remember if they are identical up to the OS or if they run differ

Is this the same John Gilmore? The obituary you listed is from January of

posted anything since November 5, 2015.
