closing the Map List accidentally when I have a lot of maps and flows charts
on the screen.
The Map List does not prompt before closing, because there is no loss of data
incurred by closing it. Simply choose Window-Map List to open it again.

The helper app configurations are stored in the Windows registry in 5.3.
5.4 will store them in a separate XML file and has UI support for importing and
exporting the Helper App list to facilitate copying them between computers and
users.

If it was reduced to be only large enough to contain the poll interval,
horizontal scrollbar, and zoom, it would be around 235 pixels wide.
I am surprised to hear that a 128-pixel wide Map window is at all useful. How
are you using it? Can you see more than one device in it?
