I flew home yesterday from the KR Gathering so I could tailgate and watch my KC
Chiefs today. It was great seeing everyone at the Gathering! I think the
weather reduced the number of attendees but it was certainly was a great time
for those who did make it.

Per my Revmaster manual, the basic oil sump is 3.5 quarts. Add an oil filer and
you need 4 quarts. Add a oil cooler and you need 4.5 quarts. Hope this helps. I
do use approximately 4.5 quarts at each oil change.

Everything is on track for the Gathering later this week.
Shirts and hats are ordered, catering for Saturday night is a go.
Camping will be right behind our EAA hangar K on the west side of the
airfield, we will have a porta-potty set up Weds night.

I recently replaced brake pads on my airplane and had to release the
pressure in the fluid at the lower brake fittings. Both my brakes were
locked down until I released the pressure. I do not have a parking brake.

I used fiberfrax overlaided with aluminum sheet for my firewall. The
thickness of the fiberfrax is not important. It is still rated for 2300 deg
F regardless of thickness.
I have not heard of Isofrax paper.

I have run into "rough" engine running when I've pulled the carb heat "on"
in colder weather. 65F does not seem to be that cold though. I

construction. It eventually lost it's tackiness, but it sure was annoying.
I have pretty much switched to West Systems since and haven't had any issues
with it.

I would stay away from the MGL V6. I have one in my KR2S, but it is not great.
I was very difficult to get the radio to work with my existing antenna. I had
to build up a pretty big ground plane to make it work, so I do not recommend
it. My original ICOM A4 hand held was better.

I tried to use a RC servo for my KR elevator trim. The DAR would not accept it.
His issue was that if the servo lost power it didn’t have a lock up mode
unpowered. The possible result was flutter in the trim tab. I had to remove it.
Worth checking before you go that route.

non-structural. It is used extensive in boat building for all purposes.

Mark,
Both will work fine. I think that Aeropoxy was just a little less
expensive. It also takes longer to cure/harden which isn't a bad thing when
doing such a large layup as a wing skin.
