One of the files mention buillion embroidery and the we think it was
made in the Embroiders Guild in the UK. Lots more embroidery also on
the Queen Camilla gown. I am also going to send a url of some Honiton
Lace, handmade by Pat Perryman, worn by the current speaker of the House

Yes, the Santina Levy book LACE is the best source for a complete history of
lace and lacemaking. However, it is expensive , (if available). If you have
access to any large Public Library, you might find it in the Reference Dept.
Many libraries also have instruction books on lacemaking
outh Florida, USA where it is very windy & there are marine warnings

Thanks to Jane Partridge and Adele Shaak for their replies to my conundrum.
Adele is correct that Regency lace had no gimp on the outside, but did have
gimp on the inside around little holes. I have always thought that this showed
a preview of what would be later tried in Bedfordshire Maltese
Devon - I am without my lace books at the moment, so I can’t give you any
citations. But there is a type of lace that was done in the early 19th
century, that is a point ground with no gimp on the outside of the motifs. In
the books I have, it was called “Regency Lace” - probably a reference
I'm wondering if it might be a machine made lace. I think some had the gimp
outline sewn in by hand later.
