i have installed lyx on my laptop. The screenfonts (title and other big fonts) look
like some games i played once on my zx spectrum (liasing). The dvi and pdf fonts are
ok. Dvi seems to render. I tried lyx-qt1-3 from tux familiy and a selfcompiled lyx
from the 1.3pre2-1 sources. I am using d
I have a couple of issues in a manuscript that uses 5 wide floats for
tables and 3 wide floats for figures.
Issue #1, when I view as dvi, pdf or print, my tables get labeled
1,3,5,6,7 (instead of 1,2,3,4,5).

I found out the circumstances when table floats get numbered
1, 3, 5, 7, ... or 2, 4, 6, 8, ... I put longtables inside
the floats, since doing that seemed to get the tables
centred. (Having used LyX more now, I know that's not the
way to do it -- you just set the paragraph layout

I have 4 tables in my doc, inside table floats. If I put the
tables before the captions, I get tables numbered 1, 3, 5, 7.
If I put them afterward, I get 2, 4, 6, 8. But the actual
numbering I really want is 1, 2, 3, 4 (call me fussy or

If I insert a picture (in a float) in lyx 1.1.6fix which I produced or
manipulated with xfig, the picture is always rotated at 90°. I exported
the picture as eps in xfig before and can´t see where I pushed a rotate
button... :)

That is quite a difficult task as you will need to use MetaFont which is
not easy to learn. Your best bet is to ask in comp.text.tex if someone knows
where to find such font sets and then come back and ask how to use them :-).
I bet this isnt easy to implement in LyX.

They use small pictures I can copy in xpm or eps and I can insert them as
graphics, but it's really tedious for so small ones.
