tetex
My question is why. I'd like to use the tetex package comes with cygwin
if possible. I am not really interested in another latex distro as the
site suggests.
Can anyone explain if it is possible to use the cygwin tetex package
instead of a native windows package?

However, lyx uses always the old tetex-distribution.contained in cygwin.
Is there a possibility to change between distributions?

I had one major problem: Some files of the document directory
(the .bib file with its original name, modified .sty files, and so on)
were not copied into the temp dir.
Therefore,

- As a very easy to use converter, I found that tth.exe ( tex to html ) is
very good. Export your document from lyx into latex, then execute "tth -e2
document.tex".
Gives a very good html Document (similar to elyxer).

I had similar problems of the export (Word HTML), with Lyx 1.6.8, as

First, I wanted to tell, that it is not bad to have both configurations:
- HTML (with elyxer) is more stable and works out of the box
- HTML, Word (with htlatex) recognises
box and display a label in final output.

Hi.
I am curious about the symbol in the help documents. There is the
sideways triangle used when referring to menu item, for example,
Insert->Box. The -> actually looks like a triangle in LyX. How do I

I am seeing lots of crashes with LyX 1.6 on Windows Vista. I think it
happens when it cannot delete the temp files during exit. This can
happen when I browse the files in the temp file directory or I do not
close Adobe PDF Reader.

Now it won't start. It trys to find the UI definition file in the wrong
place but it cannot find it. There is no directory LyX 1.6.1!!

I have some linking errors when I compile lyx 1.3.0 under cygwin. It is
the last step (make lyx.exe)!

xforms 1.0 doesn't compile out of the box under cygwin. I had to modify
the configure files in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/Config. I guess something is
screwed up.
Anyone got a patch for xforms1.0/cygwin or a pre-compiled binary?

There is problem with the ASCII export function. When I have multiple
files included, those files are not exported.
It will be nice to be able to export those together.

I am impressed by the time required to compile LyX. Gcc is slow, but I
felt it took much shorter time to build linux kernel with all the
modules.
Any config time option to speed up the build process besides turning

Hey, it is possible under cygwin! This is what I did! Need to edit
the impgen.c, same as the xforms version. If you have space, I can ftp

Basically, I will not have to write "From" at all. I just put the reference at
the end and Lyx automatically append "From [ref]" after the caption. It really
only make sense to put the reference at the end of the caption any way.

The first one is good enough since I really just need the double rules at top
and bottom. I was trying to do the samething but I was stuck at the bottom

Is there a way to have some type of "smart" subfigures? If I put more
graphics than a page can hold, it just run out of bottom of the page. I

If I update the bibliography file and do a update postscript, lyx
doesn't re-run latex/bibtex. I need to close and open the file again to
view the change. Maybe a "force update" or "re make all" menu item helps.

toc (table of contents), lof (list of figures), or lot (list of tables).

One way to do that is to convert the TOC to pdf
and use a pdf to ascii tool to extract the TOC. You probably need to edit it.
