recovering a deleted contact with El Capitan

I had some time today where I didn’t need to use my mac so I decided to download and install the upgrade. It kept pausing and when it only had a minute to go I went and did something else. As it turns out I still have Yosemite. I went back to the app store and attempted the download again.

Hi everyone, I finally upgraded my laptop to elcappitan. I am only having one problem so far. The finder does not appear to have a side bar. When I go to “show side bar” and interact with it or try to activate it with vo space, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong and how can I get it to look

secure erase the fusion drive «mcintosh hd» with zeros. Sometimes with external disk or some partitions this secure erase button appears in the dialog. I was thinking that El Capitan would run even better with the backup image from Time Machine on top of a secure erased hard drive would be good

You mean it just works.:) And that is the apple way. Or it was anyway. That’s the hope then, . My experience is like yours I still find El Capitan to be the worst named but smoother running of the OS X instances. I’m thinking about it though and I wonder if my experience is colored

Everyone has different workflows. As another list member has pointed out activities and using Safari where VoiceOver jumps all over the place in El Capitan is very painful. In comparison I find my BootCamp version of Windows 10 and JAWS 17 to be remarkably stable. Thanks for writing in. I

Hi. I like El Cap and don’t find it a head ache at all. I don’t see many bugs either and if anything does go wrong, just turn voice over off and on by pressing Command F5. It’s better than windows because I use windows every day and always have problems with my windows although it’s a work

i am thinking your clean install maybe is wrong i.e. you did not boot into the external install osx El Capitan. Just guessing. Erase McIntosh HD before install. Do not download from iCloud and do not log in before OSX is installed. Download each app one and one from payed apps in app store

No big problems with El Capitan here. Restart voice over occasionally. Normal vo comands in Safari. Have not learned hot spot. vo-i is often used in Safari. Sometimes i get busy in apps and Safari, but not often. Late 2012 iMac. Its easy to use Time Machine backup. At least with Time Capsule
