Hi, Yes, WMV are Windows Media Videos whereas WMA are Windows Media Audio files. One can use a converter like Handbrake to convert WMV content into mp4, MOV etc that are readable by QT and iTunes. The caveat is that if these are protected videos, the conversion is either not possible

Terry, I doubt you have much choice as to specific versions of iTunes to use. I believe that Apple Music came out with Yosemite, and for some folks this was a step back in accessibility since iTunes tries to do too much. I believe that the latest version of iTunes is a bit easier to use
