This brings back memories. When I worked for Norfolk Dredging Co. in the '70s,
they bought a barge from the Navy. The paint was peeling so horribly (like
someone painted Latex over oil), that I named it the Scrofulous. The name
stuck and someone actually painted that on one end of the barge.

It sounds like your carburetor acceleration circuit is not pumping
enough volume. These are the Zenith carbs, right? IIRC, they have an
acceleration pump. Make sure the pump is delivering a proper volume of
fuel. I think the pumps can be adjusted. It has been a long time since I

Jimmy Jackson raced the Cummins Special in the 1950 Indy 500. Turbo
problems forced them out, but they were doing great until then.

I thought it was the Dodge Omni; however, it may have been the Gremlin. One of
the auto magazines did an article on modifying this engine 10-15 years ago.

I paid $2052.00 for a new Zenith Blue 1968 VW Beetle. The only extras it had

windows. That was the going rate, for I had shopped around for months.

I have a 1984 380SE for sale. It is in ratty condition: the lapis blue paint

It is not hearing loss. We just get more discriminating as we get older
(er. more mature). Our hearing becomes more selective--at least that is
what my wife says. Face it, we don't want to hear most of what goes on
around us anyway. ;)

Have you tried using acetone (fingernail polish remover) to seal the

And the US to a large extent. Who in their right mind would brave 3000

The paint code should be on a metal tag such as this attached to the radiator
