Reviewing the service manual, I thought that the bushing need to be installed
in a certain orientation, because the bushing themselves have a red-band around
one portion od the outer diameter. The instructions do not mention
those bushings on my '95. I do remember that there is one or two
exhaust heat shields that you need to remove in order to get a good attack
angle for those bolts.

Well it finally happened, I had to have my 95 Mercedes E300D towed home. The
serpentine belt tensioner pulley seized. I have attached a photo of what was
left. The bearing assembly got very hot as you can see. I initially notice my
ABS light turning on and of then all the lower warning lights
Mercedes is closing in on the 750,000 km mark. We will see how it goes for
the one after that!

Sounds a little like my 85 300CD, I had too stop driving it in the the
winter time because it wouldn't start even with fresh glow plugs. Turned out
to be low compression, which is needed to get the fuel to ignite. Glow plugs
draw at least 10 amps and then drops of slightly as the plug

With clear title, you should be able to order keys or tumbler through any
Mercedes dealers parts department. I had to ordered a new switch tumbler for
my 1995 E300D when it jammed and I couldn't install the key and turn to the
extraction position. Took a bit but completed the repairs and
300CD Turbos started in 1982 thru 1985. 123 body ceased after 1985.
