Extended auctions make no sense. Internet auctions are not like live
auctions. They go on for a week and during that time you have plenty of time
to make up your mind how much you are going to bid. Live auctions are
fairly rare and do not take place very often. The idea of being a slave

Well, it's a week late but thank you for backing up my position Claude.

I am the individual who was the winning bidder for the Buck Jones 'Desert

My name is Phil Ayling and I have been collecting movie memorabilia in a small

Manually sniping within the last second.
I tip my hat to you.
You're obviously collecting the appropriate genre.
Nothing strange about that, just a remarkable piece of gunmanship.

Grey,
Well, since your message ended up going public, I have two comments:
1) Thanks for the tip about Gavelsnip.com, I didn't know about that one.
2) Since it is possible to snipe Heritage auctions in the last

I do think the implementation of extended bidding at
emovieposter.com is too broad. I think in that case that if a bid
comes in during the last 5 minutes the end time is extended by 5 minutes

The below is remarkably uninformed. The vast majority of bidders who bid in
the closing five minutes (thus extending the auction) bid EXACTLY one
increment over the existing high bid. because they know to a certainty that
if they ARE outbid, they now have another five minutes to re-bid.
Say the
bid snipers are all in the buyer's favor and that is why buyers like them
it's also why we as dealers do not

How do you know they bid exactly one bid over the current bid? Because you can

Yes, well, you should make up your mind about your maximum bid and bid
it. And, if you don't get what you are bidding on, well, that's life.
One can argue that the snipe is a great leveler. The internet model
is not like a live auction. In fact, it's not even an auction at all.
