Hi ,
I have the opportunity to acquire a used FA 85 f1.4 but in Like new
condition complete with original box manual packing etc
How does it perform on the K10D/K20D or K7 ? ( currently own a K10D
but will probably get the K7 soon)
What would be a reasonable price to pay for it ?
Regards
Well the asking price is approx USD 1300 I may be able to negotiate
down a bit 10% or so. Given that one can get a new 77 limited f1.7
for under $800 any opinions on the choice ?

Yes but not as effectively as at the short end.. I estimate the
effectiveness at the long end (above 300mm) to be around 1 - 1 1/2

1. Add a new layer and fill it with 50% gray (RGB 128,128,128) Set
the layer blend mode to overlay
2. Use Filter/Noise/Add Noise Tick Gaussian + Monochromatic.
3. Adjust noise amount to taste I usually end up with anything between

My wish list:
1. Faster and more
My wish list:
1. Faster and more accurate AF (I know it is a contradiction in terms
but we know it is possible err. dark side)
2. Adjustable AF settings ( a user should be able to correct
back/front focusing)
3. Larger sensor (1.3 crop factor) but only if current DA lenses cover
the 1.3 crop
to wait a bit until i've put away enough
funds for the right option.
It would be nice to be able to factor in the new SDM lenses into the
shortlist but unfortunatley they get eliminated because I want to use
this setup on my MZ-S as well as the K10D.

2. On a brand new FA 50 f1.4 there

Hi,
I've been reading that some of you have opted to turn of the NR on your K10Ds.
For those of you who have come to the conclusion that IQ is better
with the NR off what sort of problems was the NR causing ?

You know what would be really really really nice a pentax 135-400
f/4.5 it would make a great pair with the upcoming 50-135 f/2.8...
