I'm sure you are going to be bombarded with requests etc.. Not sure what
has changed within the new protocol however it would be handy as it
works with HomeKit. It also looks like the for it to work on HomeKit it
only needs to be AirPlay 2 and it appears within HomeKit (thats the
early findings).
