I found that it was due to an upgrade to the intel-i915 driver in X.
Replacing the new version with an older version cured it for me.
However, I've had no trouble with Qubes 4.1.
A search for "linux xorg driver for i915" gives some idea of the
problems, but it is all a bit conf
from the shared NAS folder work OK too, because
I test that occasionally.

In Qube Settings, make the default kernel "none". It will then use the

Why do you need ffmpeg in dom0? Dom0 is for admin, not for running

Just try copying 100Gb to the usb connected drive to see how long that
takes. USB
if you are using legacy
boot, then the grub.cfg is probably the one to look at.

Or, alternatively, please open a bug at Xen about this regression,
maybe they know an easy way of how to disable this check for AMD or at
least could provide some debugging ideas... It is in our best
interests that some solution for this problem gets upstreamed.

I had exactly this problem when I installed Qubes. Searching this mail
list found the answer. (You have to edit the installation image, or
mount the image, edit it and build a new image for installation.)
