Hi,
I requested the take over of Scid at sourceforge. I will see if this
works (Scid is already flagged as APT = Abandoned Project Takeover)
I did it because latest downloadable files are from 2004 and Shane and
admins are unavailable, except martin skjoldebrand that seems really
busy and/or wi

I do not understand why there are two efforts underway.
Specifically, Pascal, I do not understand why you have decided
to start your own effort. As far as I can tell, Dr. Kirby is

So, suppose shane never updates Scid : then Scid is a dead project, right ?
Suppose there are forks (any fork is insane for me in open source

So if I understand well you propose 2 scenarios :
S1 :
Scid -> let it die
2 forks :
Pascal do you have a Sourceforge ID number associated with your request?
I would like to make a formal objection. It seems I'm not the only one
to feel it is inappropriate.
I feel Michal Rudolf's proposal, or links to the two projects is a good
one.

Suggestion: link to both A and B from Scid. Wait some time and see how both
projects are doing. If one is doing better (development pace/users) put it

To all concerned,
As a low-activity member of this list (ie "lurker"), I would request
that Pascal and David do their best to sort out their differences. Each
has contributed greatly to Scid.
Considering that Shane has been effectively absent for almost three

That´s an important point. ChessDB follows the "intentions" (in my view at
least) of scid
