This is so cool. Love the article on Dick Vader's Pod Planes. I learned

The point about IRCHA is that you had 550+ transmitters in the pits and on the

D,
I agree.
But
The World Soaring Masters was not meant to be a World Championship. The use
of World in the name is meant to make it an invitation to the world's soaring
pilots to come and compete. We do have many pilots from around the world that
will be coming to compete against
soaring in the RC world in general. (oops, I used the word world twice
without first checking to see if it's OK) In case you haven't noticed, not many
people outside of RCSE care, let alone know, about RC Soaring. That is the
goal, to build awareness outside of the small rc soaring community.
John
Does anyone think that publicizing this contest outside of RC soaring will
bring any good to RC soaring? Lets show the world that it takes $2000.00
worth of planes (Most will have a backup) and another $1000.00 of radio
equipment to have fun in RC soaring. That should really help recruit new
world brethren, no whining, only flying aroung for 12
minutes and spearing the turf like there is no next round...:-) See
you and the rest of the World in Muncie in September.

Dave,
Here at Horizon we are helping out a team from one of the local high schools on
a similar type project. These kids are great and just like sponges when you
give them information. I got a kick out one of the boys when he said there is
no way you can find a thermal. He said It has to be
Jon,
JRPA210 is the arm that comes with the servo. If you need a slightly longer arm
go with the 211. Also note that JR servos have 23 splines on the output shaft.
What does this mean you ask? With the servo centered put the arm on, if it is
not in the correct position pull it off and rotate
That's all good, but the only thing I would stress is to use a good hi-torque
servo on the tow release. You should not skimp on the release. I've been doing
this Aerotow stuff for a while and have seen

What's the problem - doesn't your tow master have a release in his plane? I

Tom,
I've made several trips out west and have had good luck with just leaving my
plane in it's Jim Bag. I did make plywood vertical stab and rudder covers to
protect those areas of the plane. Also connect a cable to the D pin that comes
with it so it won't get miss-placed by the TSA. I also
h good all

Have fun and good luck at the event.
Oh, another word of warning, Australia is

OK Soaring addicts,
If you had 3-days of soaring to determine a sailplane National Champion, what
format/format's would you like to see? Where would this contest be located, and
what would make you attend? Do you even want to compete, or would you just like
to come and fly with your buds? Or
The 9303 can be purchased in Mode-1 configuration. Our service department can
change an existing Mode-2 to Mode-1.

Harley,
Those are 3mm machine screws. If you have a hobby shop around that sells car
stuff you can find something there that will work. I usually change mine to an
aluminum hex-head type screw. Usually lots of colors (anodizing) to choose from
too.

John
