Hello Butch. NVDA works in Safemode too. What WE is doing is it has
installed a reg file that works in safe mode that works with all screen
readers. I'm not sure where you can get this registry file but if you google
it you should be able to find it.

screen reader in the world, JAWS would have dropped considerably, and we

Glad the whole WE community is doing all it can to keep Window-Eyes alive. I
was thinking about it today and what it would had been like if it had been
the front runner. Maybe somebody will hopefully pick up the actual source
code for it and continue development. Does FS now own the source code?
NVDA does have a version of Eloquence that you can buy from Code factory. I am
using the SAPI 5 version of Eloquence.

Window-Eyes is no longer in production. It was acquired by VFO who also has
JAWS as well. JAWS is the one VFO is concentrating their development on.

You can tell it not to update. I think if the new versions of Firefox isn't
working with Window-Eyes, it is a clear sign that Window-eyes is failing
with the new updates. I use JAWS and NVDA and both work fine with the new

Also there is a JAWS search feature, insert space, and the letter J. Once
you do that, a search box will come up. Then, you can type in a function,
and JAWS will display the function in a virtual viewer, and it will also
give you the links for you to activate that function, and it will say the

have had new braille support in it. They were going to strip out the braille
code and rewrite it from scratch and make braille more responsive
