I didn't work for me yesterday. Once I'd turned on airplane mode, everything was dimmed, so I turned on data on my phone and was connected that way, but still I didn't get it to work here in the UK. Is this the same as the Dictation app which I've had for some time. I used to use it on the 4S

I think the thing people are missing here is that it doesn't work in all markets. It's not available where I am in New Zealand, but based oN David Woodbridge's podcast, he has it in Australia. It's certainly available in the US. So if dictation doesn't work for you when you turn Airplane mode

I just googled offline dictation in ios, and everything I read said it was only available in the 6s or 6s plus models and that it is not enabled by default. You have to go into the Settings, General, Keyboard, and download the offline dictation files and that is only available for English
