There is going to have to be a compromise here guys. We will not be
putting together the composite subscriber data for the FCC. There are no
provisions for it. We can ask but then quite frankly I am not too keen
on telling them that most of our members here seem to be reluctant to
tell them who
I'm just flat out scared of the FCC. The way they are in bed with AT&T
and the likes. To be honest, I can get by on what I have. (900, 2.4,
5.8) 3.6, 700, and TV bands would be nice, but what is the cost? I'd
rather hide in the corner with a tin foil hat and not exist.

John,
I support your view.
We can not assume that the FCC's intent for Wireless is evil, just because
there is huge lobby efforts by our competitors (Cable and Telephone) and
Lots of debate at the FCC to address equality issues regarding VOIP, that
has generated much hippocracy and trouble in

Further, this is directed at WISPA leadership... What is the FCC looking

Sorry John...
I should have been more precise in my question...
What does the FCC see as a role for WISP's, not WISPA...
Sorry about that.

Mark,
You made some very good points, in your response to me, and I do not
contradict them.
There is risk in all the things you bring up, when reporting.
Its part of the reason, I didn't file last year.
The difference, is that we are on the opposite side of the coin, when

I plan to file again, just I did last fall. I want them to know I am here and I need additional spectrum. If the rest of you don't file, I will suffer because there is no need for the spectrum to be given to a group that does not exist.

Pre-answering for John here
I have sat in on a few meetings with FCC officials and spoken at FCC
events regarding rural broadband, and it is pretty clear that the people
from the FCC I talked to wanted to see WISPs provide competition to
cable and DSL, especially in the underserved areas o

compared to me, you're "the big guy", but then, we had someone come in and

every direction, to prevent anyone else from doing so. They claim to have
never used a single dime, they just prevented anyone else from doing it.
Interesting. I kinda view my business in the same light.
You know, the 'lack of leadership in broadband' is such a myth. But that
doesn't prevent it from being beat to death politically.

Why not set up a website on wispa.org that would collect the data -

Collect all the data they want through the organization and send them

This would give those that did not want to follow the guidelines an

I agree that the FCC sides with the Big Guys often and to the detriment
of the small guy.
That said, if you don't comply, I can easily see THAT as becoming the
end of the industry.
The FCC would add more regulation to get compliance.
