Why shouldn't they? I am not sure what you understood, but if a user is
not subscribed to a ML, he cannot send any messages through Gmane. Plus,
the ML is public. One can view it via a web browser, or via Gmane. No
difference. But if one want to post a message, one must be subscribed to
the ML.

I am bound to receive the traffic to my email, as I mentioned above.

As per my understanding, there is.

I just a checked a bunch of message in my Gmail trash. And yes, they had
the trailer! Except the one signed with GnuPG (from the ones I checked).
So, it appears that as long as one is reading this in his email account,
he should be receiving the trailers.

newsgroup on gmane.org. Replies sent to my email address are just
filtered to a folder in my mailbox and get periodically deleted without
ever having been read.
