I use Thunderbird (threaded) and have never had any difficulties with quoted text. If the trailer follows a standard signature, it may be gray, but it's there. Most of the time, that is. Let me try to say this again: in Gmail webmail interface, generally in all posting which are a response / reply of other posting, the unsubscribe trailer will be by default HIDDEN (not shown, not just gray) under a "- Show quoted text -" text button. The user must click that text button to see the unsubscribe trailer.

Gmail do this because the trailer will be considered a quote, since it exist in the replied e-mail as well.

Since I'm not using the Gmail webmail, you must be referring to somebody who is, and is replying to a post. So if the original post had a trailer, it would be invisible. But the new response message (with its hidden trailer) is still coming to our list server, which normally attaches the trailer to each message it receives before posting to the list. How would Gmail's interface inhibit that in what I see on Thunderbird? Thunderbird has no such "Show quoted text" button (or option, AFAIK -- quoted text is always shown). A Gmail user apparently would need that button to see the full message, but that does not seem relevant to this issue.
