One other thing which might be worth checking is the rules for clearing. When an event with a 0 (clear) severity comes in, it will clear any events that match it on the following fields: device, component, eventKey
If any of those are different you may want to manually override the values inside the mappings transform for the first event which is the error. Then make sure the same transform is used to set the values for the clear event inside that mapping. As far as I know that would fix your problem but Mr. Chet Luther might have some other tidbit I overlooked.
