I took a screw right along the edge of the tread of my RF. I have a plug in
it and can get around town, but I'd be crazy to take this out at high speeds.
Owing to the location of this, it can't be patched from the inside.

Just my luck; Michelin apparently doesn't make a 235/40 17 in a Pliot Sport
anymore. So I scour the earth and find one, or replace two with something
else. Anybody got any advise on where I might find one (in some warehouse
someplace)? If that fails, I could use some advise on what might mix well (as
a pair) with these.

Dicount Tire Direct still shows 235/40-17 on their web side
for $137 - stock "Good" in AZ and TX, "Out" for OH.

I got a set from them over the summer for the STi.

As Ben pointed out, they are available from Discount Tire Direct. I
happen to have a brand new one in my garage that I bought for a spare on
one of my M3's, but never had it mounted. I would be willing to sell it
for $100 + shipping if you are interested. My zip code is 94024 for
shipping purposes.

Pretty bLing. It's all the rage with the drifting crowd, and really gets
the car noticed.

Ok, I painted the side view mirror housings (ok, my wife did).

And to think, I used to do Quality Assurance for a software company. But I
got laid off and they got bought by a bigger company. Coincidence?

No, even after colour calibration they still both look horrible!

My 325ix is losing the driver's side skirt portion of
the body kit. It is only held in place by the portion
that fits into the bottom of the front and rear fender
flares.

The best that I can tell, it was originally aligned by
about 4 plastic screws and held in place by some
adhesive patches. The patches are no longer sticky,
and I can't figure how to access the screws. They
seem to be going from the skirt to the body, but the
skirt is solid - no way to access the screws.

Does the whole side have to come off and go back on as
a unit? How can I get the old adhesive patches off?
Where can I get new adhesive patches? And finally,
how do I access the screws?

I'm just looking for advice on skirts. Surely someone
can help.

It will, if the fault happens again.

IMO, if you get the same fault a second time, replace the O2 sensor. If it
doesn't come back, assume it was a one-time thing.

Hope that helps,

I was wondering if anyone here on the list has
purchased a Sachs suspention kit and if you would be
so kind as to give me a little feed back on how it
feels. Particularly on an E36. TIA!

I hated mine!

Too stiff for daily driver.

Quality made tho, but it makes the car a toy...forget about using for
commute.

I wound up taking it off and went back to stock.

One glaring thing, and I would appreciate feedback, the car
"hobby-horsed" too much for my taste. More so when the car was adjusted
to ride very low. With the car adjusted to maximum ride height it rode
much better, almost acceptably, but the rocking back and forth was still
present. Since I bought the car with the system inplace, I was wondering
if maybe the shocks were tired. Still, the system was too stiff for a
car that sees many street miles and was slowly beginning to destroy my
car.

I did keep the racing dynamic bars on tho! ;-)

I was a bit hasty with the send button...

I have never driven a BMW that handled as well as mine with the SACHS
sporting kit. I am not completely sure if the car had eibachs but the
springs are bight blue. My rears were height adjustable via a threaded
base which sat in the lower control arm. The SACHS kit really allowed me
to work the tires to their fullest. I am wearing 225/40/18's all the way
around and I don't seem to get the cornering forces out of the car that
I was with the stock springs & shocks. I have to fuss much more with
tire pressures to keep the car neutral as opposed to understeering all
the time. Now that I've gone to a set of staggerd Z4 take off 18's which
are 255/35 in the rear I have thrown my hands up in disgust. I will save
my jollies for the track with the non-staggerd wheels. =)

I have a Sachs suspension on my E36 (not the UUC one) that's a few years
old. I love it, just stiff enough for me and I daily drove the car this
summer in the crappola streets of S. East Michigan. I have Eibach sway
bars on the car also.

The car is going to become a track car so I'm about to take it off and
install a DA Ground Control suspension and give up on the streetability.
If anyone may be interested in it shoot me a message. The front struts
are threaded so it's height adjustable, the rear is not.

Carlos.
