In my experience, this depends on how management views the week of
little or now project progress. If they Get It(TM) then it definitely
has advantages. Managers at my last employer were generally the sort to
expect consistent weekly progress in spite of the additional tasks that
week. Spreading the interruptions translated into better opinions on the
part of managers.
