Ron Garret's talk here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEaecUuEqfc is about the best discussion in lay terms that I have found. See at 0:53:46 that there is no "real" one classical universe. It is just an abstraction that we invent in our minds to make "big picture" sense of things.
