I'm unable to upgrade to Leopard because too many thing "break" for me.
I'm dependent upon the current "gcc" compiler on this machine, and certain
firewall settings, both of which fail miserably in Leopard. I know because
I've
got a laptop (MacBook Pro) running Leopard, and several things "break".

As always, the "fix" is to upgrade something other than what isn't working.
In this case there's no patch to Growl that works in 10.4.11, only a fix
that
works in 10.5.x. Gone are the days when patches were issued for products
on the Operating System running product where the "bug" was reported.
