Hello, it’s Peter here and welcome to Wednesday’s Levy Letter. I hope your day
is going well.

Last night on the programme, as promised, we had Linda Barker on the programme
and tonight joining us will be Anton De Beke, who’s going to be starring in the
new series of Strictly Come Dancing, which is just about to start on BBC One.
Last series he partnered Esther Rantzen. It’s just been announced who is going
to be his new partner in the new series and that will be Patsy Palmer. The
reason we’ll be talking to him is that there is a new show opening this week at
the Hull New Theatre all about ballroom dancing. It’s the stage version of the
TV programme presented by Jane McDonald. All the dancing has been choreographed
by Anton and we’ll be talking to him tonight at 6.30pm.

Fraisthorpe

My word I started something when I mentioned Fraisthorpe beach a couple of days
back. I’ve had loads of emails in support of Fraisthorpe, so thank you very
much indeed. And if you’re going as regularly as you say you are doing, then I
will probably see you there one day, but not sitting on a sand-yacht!

Advert

I mentioned last night on the programme that on Friday we’re going to make a
spoof television commercial – a spoof on our TV commercial with me doing the
cooking in the kitchen. If you would like to be that person to star in that
cooking advert then email me straight away at [EMAIL PROTECTED] You don’t have
to be male – you could be male or female, but if you would like to be that
person and you’re free on Friday for filming, (it’s just a bit of fun) then
email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

CV

I see that candidates who lie about their credentials to boost their chances of
getting a job had better beware! Firms are now hiring CV detectives to weed
them out. Around a quarter of those looking for work lie on their CVs to try
and impress their future boss according to a new report. And who do you think
is most to blame? Well women in their 30s are most likely to be economical with
the truth!

Clothes

Now how much do you reckon you spend each year on clothes? Well single women
spend almost £800 a year on clothes according to a new survey. Many keep the
bill down by taking advantage of the retail price fall at the moment, which has
seen things like jeans being sold in the high street for as low as £4! So women
spend about £800 a year on clothes. Men trail far behind spending just £546
on their outfits!

Leave it to Levy

Don’t forget, if you’ve got a problem or an issue that you think we might be
able to tackle on the programme then do get in touch with the details of what
you’re not happy about and what you think we might be able to do about it. Also
don’t forget to include your telephone number as well. Drop me a line either to
BBC Look North, Queens Court, Queens Gardens, Hull, HU1 3RH or [EMAIL
PROTECTED]

Photographs

One of the most successful things we’ve done on the programme over the last few
months is the photos for the Big Screen where we show your best photos of the
region. Loads are coming in still. If you are a keen photographer and you’ve
got a particular view that you would like a wider audience to see, then send it
in the post or by email. Of course we’ll be having another photograph from our
region on the programme tonight.

Well better get on. I hope you have a good Wednesday. Join me tonight at the
usual time of 6.30pm on BBC1.

Take care, bye for now.

Peter
