Hello, it's Peter here and welcome to Wednesday’s Levy Letter. I hope your day
is going well and I hope you'll be able to join me tonight on BBC One at half
past six as usual.

Tonight, we'll be live at the Lincolnshire Show as the celebration of farming
and food opens in our region. We'll be taking a look at the billion pound
farming industry in the area and introducing a family from Scunthorpe to the
show for the very first time. We'll be taking them round the showground and
they'll be offering you their top tips of what to see. And this year Radio
Lincolnshire is running a special Show radio service on 1368AM and that’s on
air now with advice about what you might want to see-and-do when you get there.
If you’re going to this year’s Lincolnshire Show, then enjoy!

We'll also have the rest of the day's news including hearing from patients and
staff, who say a new way of offering dental services is leaving patients out of
pocket. And we'll be taking a peak at the world's first online cough clinic.
That’s all on BBC Look North at half past six.

Lord Of The Rings

There’s a great love of musicals in this area, so much so that BBC Radio
Humberside has its own show devoted to the musicals. It’s called Westenders and
it’s on every Sunday evening at six o’clock. Anyway I see that the most
expensive musical of all time, Lord of the Rings, is just about to open in
London. I think it runs for about five hours! Running at the moment is the
greatest number of previews ever for a show. We'll wait and see what the
critics say about that one.

Pictures

Thanks for all the flood photos from last week. Keep the more unusual photos
coming in and don’t forget if you have a story that you think we should know
about then get in touch with me at the usual address of [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Two Weather Men

The Humber Half Marathon is this weekend. Paul and I will be there to start the
race and it’s not just Paul making an appearance, but also the national
weatherman and North Ferriby lad, Alex Deakin. He will be there as well. Paul
and I will be down at the Bridge from a quarter past nine on Sunday morning. I
hope you can join us.

And here’s an event for your diary! There was an email from the Retired
Greyhound Trust about an event coming up – “Please could you give our event
some coverage between now and July 22nd when there is a Fun Day in Sewerby Hall
and Gardens and the Retired Greyhound Trust will have a stall seeking people to
re-home a greyhound, some of whom have been very badly treated or to raise
money to help support them. There will be a parade in the arena on the Fun Day
with dogs, who wish to be re-homed, and a Sponsored Dog Walk on Saturday 21st
July, to link with the Fun Day and to raise cash for the retired greyhounds who
have not yet found a home. People can raise sponsor money to walk their own dog
at the Hornsea Trust Kennels, or can raise money and walk a greyhound around
the paddock there. Send for a sponsor form and directions and start to collect
sponsors. You can get them from the Community Centre in Bridlington on 01262
670001.” So that’s from Lynette at the Retired Greyhound!
Trust. Thanks for that email and get in touch if you want a little plug for
your charity event. Email me direct on [EMAIL PROTECTED]

That’s all from me and I hope you can join me tonight at half past six. If you
want to catch up on any Look North story, then take a quick look at our website
at www.bbc.co.uk/looknorthhull. The full programme from last night is on there
if you want to watch it back and you can watch back any story from the
programme as well. So take a look.

Take care,

Peter
