Hello and welcome to Friday’s Levy Letter, I hope your day is ok and that
you'll be able to join me tonight at 6.30 for the last Look North of the week.
On the programme tonight, after a week many will never forget, we’ll have the
latest on our region’s recovery from the devastating floods.

Emergency pumping operations continue today to try to save the communities to
the East of Hull from severe flooding. Of course we'll be live throughout the
day with the latest.

We'll be assessing the impact of the flooding on school children across the
region. Thousands may have to be taught in alternative locations, you can
imagine the kind of disruption that will cause.

And away from the floods, all eyes will be on the skies above RAF Waddington,
Lincolnshire - not for the rain, but for the planes! We'll report from the
annual Waddington Air Show.

And of course we'll have the weather forecast for the weekend, everybody’s
holding their breaths to know what we’ve got in store so I’m sure you won’t
want to miss that. That’s all coming up as usual on Look North today.

Thanks for all the emails and all the photos this week, it’s been one of the
busiest weeks I can remember for Look North and Radio Humberside in many a
year. Thanks to everyone who has sent emails and photos - we are most grateful.

Ads

With its simple lyrics and very catchy tune it became one of the most
successful TV commercials in history. Now the song that promoted Shake n Vac
has been voted the nations favourite advertising jingle. By the way “Just one
Cornetto” comes in at number 3. So what’s your favourite ad jingle of all time?
Be good to hear. Get in touch at the usual address, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Parky

I see that after 36 years as the King of Chat, Michael Parkinson is standing
down and his next series will be his last... although the rumour is that he is
being lined up for numerous other TV projects... and he's certainly not going
to be at home under Mary’s feet!!
