Hello, it’s Peter here and welcome to Wednesday’s Levy Letter. Thanks for all
the emails and more importantly all the pictures of the flooding. We have had
literally hundreds of them. We’ve shown as many as possible on screen and there
are many more on our websites. I think we’re planning on having a montage at
the end of the week showing all these incredible images, so look out for that
one on Friday.

Just a reminder as well that if you ever miss Look North or you'd like to see
the programme or part of the programme again then go to our website
bbc.co.uk/looknorthhull. There’s our watch again service on there and you can
see any bit of the programme that you’d like.

Don't forget as well if you have any stories that you think we should know
about or might be able to follow up, then just drop me a line. People have been
getting in touch this morning talking about the difficulties they’re facing in
their clean up operations after the flooding. If you’ve got a similar problem
or any story that you think we should know about, then the usual email address
is [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Coming up on Look North tonight, we'll be reporting on the third day after
disastrous floods hit our region as the misery continues for hundreds of
people. Our reporters will be out with the homeowners returning to their houses
for the first time to start the clear up.

Also tonight, we'll be looking today at why houses are continuing to be built
on flood plains and putting these concerns to the Chairman of the Environment
Agency.

Plus it's a game of political musical chairs as John Prescott stands down as
Deputy Leader of the Labour party amid speculation about which job the Hull
West and Hessle MP, Alan Johnson, will land in Gordon Brown’s new Cabinet. And
as outrage erupts from Tories in our region, we’ll be getting the latest on the
Grantham and Stamford MP, Quentin Davies’ defection to Labour. More on this
tonight on BBC One at half past six. I hope you can join me then.

Well, despite the appalling weather, there are still many events taking place
in our region. Friday night is a huge event for Scunthorpe – five hundred women
in pyjamas walking thirteen and a half miles at midnight for Lindsey Lodge
Hospice. Let’s hope they’re thermal pyjamas!

And the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre at Great Steeping near Spilsby in
Lincolnshire are showing off one of their horses this weekend. This Sunday,
Harvey, one of their rescue horses, will be the star of the show in their
country and western event. Plus there’ll be some spectacular gymnastics on
horseback! And don’t worry, Keith Sanders from the horse centre says that this
time they will have the option to go under cover in the barn if the weather
turns foul! So good luck to Harvey and Keith for this Sunday 1st July.

Theatre

The readers of the Levy Letter are a cultured lot I think! At least you’re
always sending emails in to me about theatre productions being staged in our
region. Well, I wonder if this is of interest to you. The Bollywood actress and
Celebrity Big Brother winner, Shilpa Shetty, is to star in a new London
musical. The show will be called Miss Bollywood and will open in the West End
later in the year. It will give audiences a chance to see a day in the life of
a Bollywood actress and give Westerners a chance to experience Indian
traditions and customs. So that’s something to look out for!

Well, that's it from me for today. Join me tonight on Look North for all the
latest news and weather and that all important update on how the floods are
affecting our region.

Take care,

Peter
