Hello and welcome to Friday’s Levy Letter, whatever you have planned for the
weekend then I hope it goes well. On the show tonight, the MOD is under attack
today after another low flying chopper mission spooked residents and horses
near Louth. We'll have one local coroner's view on the controversy.

Can he do it? On the last day of campaigning, we'll follow Alan Johnson as he
returns to Hull to drum up support for his bid to become Deputy Prime Minister.
He would be the second Deputy PM in a row to be based in Hull of course.

We'll have exclusive access to the region's newest tourist attraction, but does
the Bridlington Eye mean the resort is in the up?

We also reveal why rail campaigners in our region are celebrating today.

And find out how you can spot dolphins off the East Coast this weekend, and
also how you can help keep track of the majestic creatures. They don’t often
come to our area, so catch them while you can. Don’t miss our report tonight.

Plus we go behind the scenes of the brand new exhibition celebrating Beverley's
historic tanning industry.
Of course we’ll also have the weather forecast as usual, that’s all coming up
at 6.30 tonight on Look North.

Half Marathon

Don’t forget it’s the Humber Half Marathon this weekend, Paul and I will be
there to start it off, join us if you can on Sunday morning from around 9:15.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the weather!

Paul Potts

It’s the show that everyone has been talking about, its called Britain’s Got
Talent. The winner is the man with the incredible voice Paul Potts… and he’s
said that he’s going to be spending some of his hundred thousand pounds on a
visit to the cosmetic dentist! Well with that amount of money he should soon
have dazzlingly white, perfect teeth.

Digital Television

More than 80% of homes now have digital TV on their main set according to
research. Around 20.4 million were receiving digital TV by the end of March. Of
course the government will begin turning off the old analogue transmissions in
this country in the next few months. I have to say that BBC3 and BBC4 are fab
extra channels, not that I’m biased!!

£5

If like me you’ve noticed how you’re always looking for a £5 note then you’re
not alone. When you do find one they’re normally very crumpled and old. Well it
seems it’s a rare treat to find a crisp fiver these days.
One of the reasons is that the banks don’t put them in the holes in the wall,
plenty of fivers are being printed but they are just not getting in the chain…
so now we know.

Buses

By pure coincidence I had several e mails about buses today, thanks for all of
those. We will, I am sure, be looking at the services offered by bus companies
over the next few weeks. If you have story that you think we should know about
then get in touch you can ways e mail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Just time for a couple of plugs for local events here, this one was sent by
Carr lane Infant School in Willerby.

“We’ll be merging with our nearby junior school at the end of July. The infant
school are holding a special carnival parade to mark the occasion. Thursday,
28th June 2007. The children have worked with a professional samba band and
dancer, made masks and costumes. This will be a very colourful local event,
joining together the schools and the community.”

And it’s free to attend, so hopefully if you’re in the Willerby area you can
pop along and enjoy some samba music!

And there’s another local event being held today at The Orangery, Sewerby Hall
in Bridlington. It’s the Driffield Miscellany Singers’ 21st Anniversary Charity
Concert. You can go along at 7.30pm tonight, tickets are £8, which also
includes a light supper and a glass of wine. It’s all for a good cause, the
proceeds go to Alfred Bean Hospital, The Driffield Trip Day, and The Driffield
Old Folks Tea. Good luck to them.

Well that’s about it from me, have a good weekend, bye for now.

Peter
