Hello, it’s Peter here and welcome to Monday’s Levy Letter. It’s the start of
another week, and if you did anything over the weekend I hope it went well. I
hope you’ll be able to join me tonight on Look North at half past six. We’ll
have all the day’s news and stories from our region.
A government committee at Westminster says fortnightly refuse collections are
not the answer to the nation’s recycling needs. It’s what residents of North
Lincolnshire have been telling us for over a year now of course. Do you think
having heaps of rubbish outside your house for two weeks would make you recycle
more?
We'll be live in Scunthorpe, and we'll hear from London.

As rain continues to cause heartache for flood affected residents, we'll be in
the East Yorkshire village of Gowdall to speak to people trying to get over the
trauma, and worried about the future.

And if you've ever dreamed of sailing around the world, or wondered what would
make somebody want to do that, don't miss the result tonight of our competition
to find a crew member for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Somebody’s
dreams could become a reality in our once in a lifetime opportunity. It
certainly sounds like an adventure.

And as usual we’ll get the weather forecast for our region, that’s all coming
up at six thirty tonight on BBC One.

Thank you for all the emails and messages we’ve received at Look North
recently, the floods are still dominating the topics of discussion. We had lots
at the end of last week about people without insurance benefiting from
government money, lots of people against that it would seem. We had a huge
response on that, and don’t forget we do read every single message, even if we
can’t respond to all of them. Keep the messages coming in. And of course if
you’re got anything you want mentioned in the Levy Letter, or any comments to
make or pictures to send in, you can reach me on [EMAIL PROTECTED] .

Chef

I don’t know if you’re a fan of Gordon Ramsay, he seems to divide people a bit,
either you love his foul mouthed, straight talking style, or you find him a bit
over the top and full of himself. Well it seems no matter what you think of
him, he’s not a very good fisherman. It’s emerged that Gordon faked footage of
him bringing fish out of the sea on his cooking programme, making it look like
he’d caught them himself, when in fact the programme makers had a professional
fisherman out on a boat twenty minutes before doing all the hard work.
I’m not sure it’s really important whether Gordon caught the fish or not to be
honest, as long as he can cook them, and those who have been lucky enough to go
to his restaurants say he can certainly cook. But as I said earlier, he seems
to be someone who people like or dislike on his personality rather than his
prowess in the kitchen.

Well that’s about it from me today, join me tonight for Look North at the usual
time 6.30 on BBC One. If you know anybody who’s not signed up the Levy Letter
and you think they’d like one, send them along to our Look North website,
www.bbc.co.uk/looknorthhull and they can find a link there to sign up for a
free daily Levy letter.
Hope you have a good day, bye for now.

Peter
