Good afternoon and welcome to the final edition of this weeks Levy Letter. I hope you are looking forward to the weekend. Hull fair starts tonight, will you be going? Do you make a special journey from out of town to visit or do you think it is overrated? Do let me know your thoughts. You can contact me on [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Beatles and the Bard I did mention a couple of days ago that a member of a Beatles tribute act is putting the words of Shakespeare to their music. Lois Smalley got in touch to tell me that Peter Sellers had recorded a version of A Hard Days Night. Well many thanks to Margaret who thought I might like to know, you can listen to Peter Sellers reciting Hard Day's Night on youtube. I may just look it up and give it a listen! Thanks to everyone who got in touch, it seems that many of you enjoyed the story. Broken Home What do you think to this one? I know that divorce can be a tough time for many couples and many people find it an expensive and upsetting process, but this couple from Cambodia seem to have come to a solution. Moeun Rim and his wife, Nhanh, who have been married nearly 40 years, have sawn their house in half in an attempt to avoid the countys complicated divorce process. They split the building last week following an argument. Mr Rim has removed his share of the house and the pair have divided their land up into four parts; two for their children and two for them. Legally it does not mean they have divorced but as long as both parties agreed to divide the home, then it remains a legal solution. Weekend Telly As usual Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor dominate the television schedules this weekend. However you wont have to choose between the two as the schedulers have put them both on at different times so you wont have to sacrifice the salsa for some singing! This weeks X Factor brings the start of the live finals and Strictly Come Dancing will have the female celebrities dancing for success. The last female contestant to leave was Gillian Taylforth so I will be interested to see who it will be this week. What do you think of Little Britain USA, it has been getting mixed reviews but I dont think you can judge on the first episode alone. The second episode will be on tonight, 9.30 BBC One and sees Vicky Pollard landing herself in boot camp! One thing this weekend I am really looking forward to is watching Stephen Fry in America. It looks brilliant, as Stephen Fry goes across all 50 states in a London cab! His journey starts by exploring the states which make up New England, before heading south to the nations capital. Lots to choose from this weekend, let me know if anything caught your eye. That is all for todays Levy Letter. I do hope you will join me for tonights Look North.
