Hello there and welcome to Tuesday’s edition of the Levy Letter. The weather
seems to be a bit dull and it was spitting when I arrived in the office today.
Let’s hope that Paul has some good news for us later!

Ringo Starr

I’ve been reading that the former Beatle, Ringo Starr, has announced that he
will no longer be signing memorabilia for fans and will throw away any fan mail
in the future. On a video message on his website Ringo declared "nothing will
be signed after the 20th of October. If that is the date on the envelope, it's
gonna be tossed.” Ringo has said that he has too much to do. I must get my
request in sharpish before the closing date then I suppose!

Scary Spiders

It seems we have a new group of migrants coming to the UK. Scientists have said
that exotic species of spiders are making their new home here. Researchers
believe that the arachnids are arriving in imports of food and plants. The UK’s
mild climate is helping them survive and spread. The new breeds of species
arriving include the false widow spider and some believe the deadly black widow
spider could be next. It may be a while until they make it up to our region but
the false widow spider has been spotted in Devon and for the past 15 years has
spread along the south coast. All I know is if I see one I will be getting the
hoover out!

The Doctor and the Prince

I’ve been reading that the Prince of Wales was offered the chance to appear on
‘Doctor Who’ but he turned it down. The executive producer, Russell T Davies,
was speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival and called the Prince a
“miserable swine” for declining the invitation. However Clarence House have
pointed out the Prince did not see the invitation and it was turned down on his
behalf. Well there you go, Prince Charles could have appeared on one of the
most popular programmes of the past few years. I wonder if he had read it,
would he have accepted?!

That’s all from the Levy Letter today. I hope you will join me for tonight’s
Look North.

Take care,

Peter
