and you seem to be talking about POP3 server mail.
The option "mark as deleted" does not exist for POP servers. For imap
servers, it is under Edite - Mail/News Account Settings - Server
Settings - When I delete a message: "Mark it as deleted".
This is jet another advantage of IMAP servers (besides being able to
read a messages header, then body without having to download a
potentially large attachment).
So now you see, we are both right, BUT you had no business giving an
opinion on something you didn't understand (you never even knew what the
"mark as deleted" setting is).
