Coincidence? <snip> Im one of this a serious designer mentioned above. I'm running a small electronic designer office. I'm working with Protel since 1993 and worked with: -Protel for DOS (1993) -Schematic 3.2 / PCB 2.8 (1997) -Protel 98 (2/1999) -Protel 99 (???) -Protel 99SE (12/1999) The money I have spent in this time to Protel is arround $4500. Thats $500 per year. Now I should spend three or four times this amount every year. If I would work with Protel every day and would make my main income with it, no problem. But only a small fraction of my sales are gathered with Protel, so this amount is just to high for me. I dont know what I will do, at the moment I will stuck with P99SE, have a look at DXP Demo but also at cheaper packages. I would love to stay with Protel, but I also love to stay in buisness too. And I definitly will not betatesting for Altium!!!! If they want that much money, they can do the work by them self!!!! I have to stop writing, because the blood pressure is raising to a risky level.
